One guy from Micro$oft going to jail for 75 years?
Yes it could happen, why? Well one guy in a so-so neighborhood seemed to have a ton of cars that most of us could not afford and motorcycles valued to be around $25k. He even boasted it on his personal web site. How did he get all of that stuff? Well he worked at Micro$oft and ordered software for free, he is allowed to do that. What he is not allowed to do, is to resell that software on the street. He made a reported $9 million. I might have done that same but I doubt I would have made 9 million. GO TEAM!

My oh my, I am glad there are smarter people on IETF I hate having to post about this but I hate people who think they are security experts and post some wild Security Advisory. I received an email from bugtraq today, read it
here, that states that Adelphia Powerlink service vulnerable to man in the middle attacks by cable modem users. The person
does not go on to talk about layer 2 switching or arp cache but goes to say that it's Adelphia networks that are vulnerable. I am on an Adelphia network and I love ARP poisoning but I have to say that it is not possible on my network because I have been playing with Adelphia for years and they have noticed the activity and fixed the holes. After sending 511 ARP requests, I get 2 returns, me and the next hop. Being ticked off by this false post, I went to the site that this user tagged his email with at the top,
http://www.invisiblenet.com/. I have never been so disappointed with a site before, they have two things on the front page "Invisible IRC Project" and "Support invisibleNET". C'mon, no security papers, no patches, no releases? Just an IRC project and some commerce. Whats next? A booth at DefCon telling everyone to buy your shit because your security group is so great because you know someone who found Adelphia has a layer 2 switching enviorment that let ARP Cache. </RANT>

In Jerusalem they know about your feet.A firm in Israel created a device that will scan your feet without taking off your shoes. The device is being tested in some airports but it is only making me think of the plastic knife issue. The device say it will scan for detecting metal items which could be used as a hijacking weapon. Then again, bad foot odor would make me give over a plane. Read more

You know how I hate to rant...I was going to Sprint PCS's site to pay my cell bill today and I noticed that the front page to login has changed a bit. This concerned me. It didn't look like a change that was an upgrade to the site. I called Sprint and asked them about the page. The operator said that it would take a bit to check. I said not to worry, I will just pay my bill on the phone with the operator. She informed me that there would be a $5.00 surcharge. This was nuts to me. She said I could hang up and dial the automated line and pay it that way. I report suspicious web stuff, they cannot confirm it and then I would have to pay $5.00 in the same phone call. Just wrong I think. Heil Sprint and the 3G reich.
Hewlett-Packard and Gateway are not paying for Christmas Holidays
Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas Scrooge. The two PC makers are sending employees home without pay for the December holidays. No. 1 personal computer maker Dell Computer will also give time off, but the vacation is paid, a spokesman said. HP is requiring most employees in North America to take off the week of Dec. 23, as HP and Compaq Computer, which HP bought in May, did last year. Workers can use accrued vacation but must take time off without pay if their vacation is used up, spokesman Arch Currid said. It looks like the world is really going down that downward spiral.
