You would be able to 'surf' wirelessly with a purchse of a combo meal. Ten McDonald's in Manhattan will begin offering wireless WiFi, or 802.11b, Internet access on Wednesday, McDonald's spokeswoman Lisa Howard said. 300 more by years end in New York City, Chicago and a yet-unannounced California city. I see this as a cool idea but then again, I eat my lunch at my desk. It would be neat if it was a weekend and I got a phone call and needed a computer but how are they going to control the access. Software based? That would leave out PDA users possibly. MAC address? I could see that being a pair to admin. I am very curious about this plan.
