Microsoft changing server licensing They will be changing the licensing scheme on eight Microsoft server products, but not its flagship Windows Server operating system software, according to a company representative. The products will include Microsoft's Application Center 2000, BizTalk Server 2002, Commerce Server 2002, Content Management Server 2002, Host Integration Server 2000, Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000 and SQL Server 2000. The announcemount will happen on April 1st 2003 but they say it will not be a April Fools joke. The most major change in the scheme is the changing per processor. For instance in a 4 proceeor server if you are only using 2, you would still eb charged for 4. They are changing it so you can only be charge for what you use. Sounds like it's Microsoft just correcting the mistakes that they have been pulling on Small Businesses. More over
