Ok, you know how much I know about TiVo.
The New York Times is saying the same thing I have been telling everyone for a long time. TiVo plans today to begin selling information about the viewing patterns of its customers to advertisers and programmers. TiVo currently logs every keystroke or button press. If you enable backdoors on your TiVo and press one of the clear-enter-clear codes, you will see the log files on your TiVo. I was just showing this to one of my friends the other day. Like I always say "more security=less convenience, more convenience=less privacy, more convenience=less security". Of course they were going to sell your data. You want privacy, stop using your TiVo. I am not sure if I believe this but...
North Korea training hackers? Are we meant to go to war. Mirim College, in North Korea's mountainous Hyungsan region is teaching everything from writing computer viruses to penetrating network defenses and programming weapon guidance systems. Although, in the past North Korea has been assigned only two "class C" blocks of Internet addresses, none of which currently appear active, according to data from the American Registry for Internet Numbers and Asia Pacific Network Information Centre. The DPRK's limited connection to the Internet reportedly comes from satellite links provided by a company in South Korea, and by land lines from China. Maybe war is a little far afterall.
