// Stack Box // // by dual // // http://www.oldskoolphreak.com The Stack Box chains telephone line switches together to create a manual, multi multi-port switch. A Stack Box begins with one or more telephone line switches. The best kind of switch for the Stack Box can be found at RadioShack, no. 43-442. This is a 4-to-1 switch that stacks well and is currently being cleared out at $2.99 a pop. The Stack Box name is derived from its construction. Take at least two switches, place them on top of each other and bind them together with rubberbands, or tie wraps, or whatever. Next, purchase, or better yet make, RJ-11 patch cables of appropriate size. Wire the switches together with the bottom switch, Switch 1, controlling the line feed to the other switches - 2, 3, 4, and 5, the top switch, respectively. See Figure 1. Finally, connect each of your ninety-seven other boxes to the Stack Box.
