Wardialing. Wardriving. Warwalking. Warflying. Warsailing. Warskating?

The latest 2600, 21:3, has an article about warwalking. I decided to one up that arty by warskating downtown Albuquerque and dropping it on [oldskoolphreak]. It's probably been done on a bicycle, but I've never heard of anyone searching for signal on a skateboard.

My setup was pretty simple (see Figure 1). I started with my trusty iPAQ 2210 with Belkin 802.11b CompactFlash adapter. It runs Windows Mobile 2003 and my stumbler of choice is WiFiFoFum. I highly recommend CompactFlash adapters for your PDA. I've used SDIO and integrated Wi-Fi, and neither can stand up to the performance of CompactFlash.

As for the transportation, I ride a Zero deck, Independent trucks and Dark Star wheels (see Figure 2). Oh yeah, throw out the stock bushings and get yourself some yellow Doh Dohs.

I know what you're thinking - "You're a dumbass." I know. One properly placed pebble or cavernous crack could send me plummeting on top of a pricey PDA. Well if you know anything about the dual, then you know that the dual is one mil away from the expansive blackness of an enveloping dimension of dementia. No risk is too great for the betterment of the community.

Here's what I found.

Fifty-one WAPs, with 27 using WEP. That's a healthy 53% using WEP. Also of note, BOFRTSI2NC could be picked up all over downtown Bookeyville, and MainLib is one of many city-sponsored hotspots.

Let me close this article with a celebratory 50-50 revert, and a message to everyone to keep hacking fun. Late.
