Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA38210

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/38210/

DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in ircd-ratbox, which can be
exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and
potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

1) An integer underflow when processing the "LINKS" command can be
exploited to cause a crash or potentially execute arbitrary code.

Successful exploitation may require that "flatten_links" is
disabled.

2) An NULL pointer dereference error when processing the "HELP"
command can be exploited to cause a crash.

Update to version 2.2.9.
