DESCRIPTION:
Salvatore Fresta has reported some vulnerabilities in AlstraSoft
E-Friends, which can be exploited by malicious users to compromise a
vulnerable system and by malicious people to disclose sensitive
information.

1) Input passed to the "lang" parameter in chat/updatePage.php is not
properly verified before being used to include files. This can be
exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources via
directory traversal sequences and URL-encoded NULL bytes.

2) The application allows upload of files with arbitrary extensions
to a folder inside the webroot while adding files to a group. This
can be exploited to upload arbitrary files inside the webroot and
e.g. execute arbitrary PHP code.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
Restrict access to the "groups" folder (e.g. via .htaccess)

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Salvatore Fresta aka Drosophila
