DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been discovered in DeluxBB, which can be
exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security
restrictions.

The security issue is caused due to an error in the authentication
mechanism in pm.php. This can be exploited e.g. to access a user's
inbox or send messages as a user by setting the cookie parameters
"membercookie" to the user's username, "memberid" to the user's id,
and "memberpw" to an arbitrary value.

The security issue is confirmed in version 1.3. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that authentication is correctly
enforced.
