Genius 2.7 Beta 3
*****************

This software is beta, which means it probably has bugs. By installing it, you acknowledge the fact that it may or may not work. The reason I'm releasing it is to try and make the finished product better, also to fix a security bug in 2.6.

This program will expire on May 31st, regardless of whether or not you have registered Genius. Byt that time either another beta will be released, or a full release will be out.

Please do not redistribute this program - it is beta and may be unstable.

To install this program, unzip it to the Genius directory (usually C:\Program Files\Genius). You ***MUST*** have previously installed Genius 2.6 in that directory for it to work.

2.7b3 contains a lot of bug fixes, plus some new functionality. I fixed the whole "blank combo-boxes" problem. The NSLookup app was re-written to prevent threading problems. I added a property to the Check Mail function which lets you determine how quickly the scroll-lock light blinks when you get mail. I also think I've fixed all the Time Client problems, but I'd like you guys to test this quite a bit. I don't know how it functions in other time zones. You can now drop URLs on the Download Manager and HTTP Client windows from Netscape and Internet Explorer. A few other bugs were fixed as well.

2.7b2 just contains some fixes, the most important one being for a problem encountered with the IdentD server. If the IdentD server received more than 1024 bytes of data, it would freeze. This is no longer a problem.

The main change in 2.7b1 wass the fix of the Passwords utility. What happened was that I forgot to key the encryption routine, so the data was encrypted without a key. That means that anyone could replace the password hash in your INI file and view your passwords. 2.7b1 changes this, and also changes some of the format of the password.dat file. It will automatically convert your old file to the new format without losing any data (I hope).

If you find any bugs, please email me at messiah@jps.net, or send me some feedback.

Thanks for your help.
