airodump requires the following files, which are usually located
    under \Program Files\WildPackets\AiroPeek :

        PEEK.DLL
        PEEK5.SYS

Also, you may need MSVCR70.DLL. Search Google for "index +of msvcr70".
These three files should be put in the same directory as airodump.exe

Not all wireless pcmcia cards are supported by the PEEK driver. Those
based on Orinoco / Hermes, Realtek and Atheros chipsets are supported.
USB or PCI cards are NOT supported.

        * Orinoco / Hermes pcmcia cards: download driver from

            http://www.agere.com/mobility/wireless_lan_drivers.html

        * Realtek or Atheros pcmcia cards: download driver from

            http://www.wildpackets.com/support/hardware/airopeek

Note that "Orinoco Gold/Silver" cards are actually Atheros-based.

    Known issues with Aironet cards:

        - When sniffing WEP data packets, the 802.11 header is valid
but the encrypted data gets corrupted by the card driver,
thus such packets are unusable for WEP cracking.

    Known issues with Orinoco cards:

        - With some Orinocos, under Windows 2000, no packets are being
sniffed (although the card appears to be supported). This is
a bug in the OS that can be fixed by upgrading to XP.

I found out the Agere driver works more or less with Prism2 cards:

Open the hardware manager, select your card, "Update the driver",
select "Install from a specific location", select "Don't search,
I will choose the driver to install", click "Have disk", set the
path to where the Agere drivers have been unzipped, uncheck
"Show compatible hardware", and finally choose the "D-link Air
DWL-660 Wireless PC Card" - answer yes to the warning message.
If airodump doesn't appear to work with the D-link, maybe try
    with the "Samsung SEW-2001p Card".

Known issues with Prism2 cards driven by the Agere driver:

        - RFMON is partially broken: WEP data packets are corrupted
but management frames or unencrypted data packets are ok,
so it works fine for wardriving but not for cracking WEP.

        - Station mode totally broken: card joins the AP but cannot
send/receive data frames, even when security = opensystem.
