* A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO PHRACK MAGAZINE *
-------------------------------------------

What is Phrack all about? It's about whitehat morons writing articles for a
worthless piece of shit magazine that should have stopped being published back
in '96. "For hackers, by hackers"? I've seen more truth come out of BMcW. The
truth is "for whitehats, by whitehats". The majority of the people publishing
articles work in the security industry, and if not they are hoping to perhaps
secure a job in the industry by publishing an article in Phrack. This zine is
worthless, with very little knowledge to be gained by reading it. SO DON'T
FUCKING READ IT. DON'T POST TO SECURITY MAILING LISTS. DON'T DISCLOSE ALL THAT
YOU FIND, AND REMEMBER: YOUR VOLUNTARY WORK IS USED BY OTHER PEOPLE, OTHER
_CLUELESS PEOPLE_ TO MAKE A PROFIT. IS THAT FAIR? NO. SHOULD ISS PAY FOR THIS?
YES. SHOULD SECURITYFOCUS PAY FOR THIS? YES. SHOULD YOU STOP POSTING? _YES!_

SPREAD THE WORD, HELP THIS WAY OF THINKING INFEST EVERY "HACKER" YOU MEET.
CONVERT THE BRAIN WASHED, _KILL THE SECURITY INDUSTRY_. USE YOUR TECHNIQUES FOR
THEIR INTENDED PURPOSE: HACKING. HACK 2 LIVE & LIVE 2 HACK.

In horizon's profile, you'll notice he uses the correct definition of 'hacker'.
Why the fuck then do we see this crap in the armory concerning Solar Designer &
Openwall:

Author : Solar Designer and other hackers.
Comment : Openwall Linux is the Hacker's choice platform.

If every hacker == programmer, then fuck, let's talk up Stallman, Knuth, Wall,
Ritchie, etc. Let's talk up all the brilliant game coders in the world. You
know this is not what a hacker is, so WHY THE FUCK kiss ass to people on THEIR
SIDE (solar designer, dugsong, etc.).

I mean, sure horizon sold out, but at least he used to hack.

People like Solar Designer, Dugsong, Theo, etc. get so much respect for being
'hackers' when they are in fact the antithesis of hackers.

They are nothing more than talented programmers.

START HACKING (READ: NOT _JUST_ CODING), INSTEAD OF PRETENDING YOU DO.

What's new?

We revived Phrack Prophile to honor those who did some kewl stuff for
the scene about 3-4 years ago.

This issue comes with a new section dedicated to tool annoucements
(Phrack armory), thanks to divineint for his contributions. It showcases
selected tools that have been released during the last few month and that
we consider cool enough to be mentioned here.
