The Jason Mewhiney Freedom Foundation (JMFF) has been launched in association with the Brotherhood of Warez (BoW) and H4G1S.
The goals of this foundation are to educate the public about Mewhiney's case. Additionally, the financial burden to pay for Mewhiney's legal fees have been laid upon his mother during his imprisonment. The Jason Mewhiney Freedom Foundation is going to maintain a fund to help ease this burden.
The Velkro Kode Warrior, a member of BoW speaking for JMFF, said, "We feel that through speaking out against his harsh treatment, we may be able to affect some positive change in Mr. Mewhiney's situation."
The Jason Mewhiney Freedom Foundation Web site is currently undergoing development, so not all information is available via the Web site. They hope to have it completed in the near future.
Project Gamma had previously reported the 'tr0ut defense fund' last year. This fund, according to JMFF, is no longer maintained. Due to this, they created a new fund. There is no direct association between the two projects.
