5-Band Omnidirectional Scanner Antenna
(200-0042) Assembly Faxback Doc. # 39233

Before You Begin

Your antenna has elements which are resonant in the 30-54 MHz, 108-174 MHz,
450-470 MHz, and 800-912 MHz bands. They work together to give you
frequency coverage from 30 MHz to 1300 MHz. Before you begin assembly,
read these instructions and plan each step. You need a suitable length of
RG-58 coaxial cable fitted with an F-connector on one end and a BNC
connector on the other end, and a small wrench with a 5/16-inch opening.

Warning: When you install your antenna, use extreme caution. If the
antenna starts to fall, let it go. It could contact overhead
power lines. If the antenna touches the power line, contact
with the antenna, mast, cable, or guy wires can cause
electrocution and death. Call the power company to remove the
antenna. Do NOT attempt to remove it yourself.

ASSEMBLING THE ANTENNA

We recommend you assemble the antenna on the ground, then mount it on the
mast. Follow these instructions to assemble your antenna.

1. Use the supplied hardware to loosely attach the supplied mast clamp to
    the main boom.

Note: If necessary, move the surrounding elements to permit access to
           the mast clamp holes.

2. Press the supplied end plugs into the ends of the antenna boom.

3. Hold the main boom's elements near the pivot points and pull them until
they snap into the locking plastic support insulators, then pull the
arrow-shaped elements out until they latch. Position both legs on top
of the front plastic support insulator outward, so they line up with
the elements under them. Pull the swivel bracket elements outward until
they snap into the swivel bracket's tabs.
