PRO-92 Tutorial: How to Program Conventional Frequencies

This is an introduction to programming conventional (non-trunking) frequencies into your PRO-92, PRO-92A or PRO-92B scanner. In this example, we are programming the frequency 866.1625 MHz in Channel 00.

For additional information on this product, see the links below:

Step 1: Select the Channel

M000 D +FM 0.0000 MHz Bank 0 Ch 00

Pro92 Keypad - MANUAL

Press MANUAL. Enter the channel number where you want to store a frequency, then press MANUAL again.

M and the channel number appear at the upper left corner on the display (for example: M000). This example is using channel 00.

Step 2: Enter Program Mode

P000 D +FM 0.0000 MHz Bank 0 Ch 00 Pro92 Keypad - PGM

Press PGM. M changes to P on the display.

P000 D +FM 0.0000 MHz Bank 0 Ch 00 Pro92 Keypad - CL

If you make a mistake, hold down CL for about 0.5 seconds to delete a single digit and about 1.5 seconds to delete all digits.

Press ENTER to store the frequency into the channel. The blinking cursor disappears. The display above shows the frequency 866.1625 entered for channel 00.

Notes:

  • If you type in a frequency that the scanner can not receive, Invalid Freq. briefly appears and the scanner beeps when you press ENTER. Start again from Step 3.
  • Your scanner automatically rounds the entered frequency to the nearest valid frequency. For example, if you entered a frequency of 866.1623, your scanner accepts it as 866.1625, as above.

Step 6: Store the Delay Setting

P000 +FM 866.1625 MHz Bank 0 Ch 00 Pro92 Keypad - FUNC, DELAY (1)

If you want the scanner to pause 2 seconds on this channel after a transmission ends and before it proceeds to the next active transmission, press FUNC then press DELAY/1 to turn the delay function on or off. The scanner stores this setting in the channel.  If the delay is turned off, D disappears from the display.  The image above shows delay off; the other images in this tutorial show delay on.

Step 7: Program Additional Frequencies

P001 D +FM 0.0000 MHz Bank 0 Ch 01 Pro92 Keypad - PGM

To program additional frequencies, press PGM to advance to the next channel and repeat the procedure starting with Step 3.
