To hear your local forecast and regional weather information, press WX. Your scanner begins to scan through the weather band. Your scanner should stop within a few seconds on your local weather broadcast and display the weather channel and frequency (7 and 162.5500 in the example above). If the broadcast is weak, you can press WX again to resume scanning.

Use the WX Alert Function

Your scanner's WX alert function allows you to put the scanner in an alert mode to warn you of serious weather conditions by sounding an alarm if a National Weather Service broadcaster in your area broadcasts a weather alert tone. The scanner only sounds the WX alert when it is in alert mode.
