Pro-2052: Limit Search

In this tutorial, you will be shown how to do a Limit Search. If you do not know a frequency to store, you can search for transmission within a range of frequencies you select, called the Limit Search Range. Then you can store any interesting frequencies you find into channels.

Step 1: Enter Manual Mode



Press MANUAL. MANUAL appears on the display.



Step 2: Enter the Channel Number



Enter the channel number where you want to store a frequency, then press MANUAL again. The channel number you chose appears on the display. In the example above, we are entering channel 5.



Step 3: Enter the Low Frequency



Use the number keys and (.) to enter the frequency that is the lower limit of the range you want to search. Press LIMIT.



Step 4: Enter the High Frequency



Use the number keys and (.) to enter the frequency that is the upper limit of the range you want to search. Press LIMIT then SEARCH. The scanner begins to search from the lower limit to the upper limit.



Step 5: Store the Frequency



When the scanner stops on a transmission, quickly press either: E to store the displayed frequency into the channel. The scanner stores the frequency. After you have finished storing that frequency, press SEARCH to continue searching with Limit Search. The UP or DOWN arrows to stop searching so you can listen to the transmission. HOLD appears on the display. Press SEARCH to continue searching with Limit Search. Notes: To step through the frequencies while HOLD appears, press the UP or DOWN keys. Press the UP arrow key then SEARCH from lowest to highest frequency, or press the DOWN arrow key then SEARCH to from highest to lowest frequency.



Step 6: Exit the Limit Search Mode



To exit the limit search mode. Press MANUAL.
