Hey, it works!

I got my CE-232 kit last Tuesday, but wasn't able to start on
it until Friday, about 11am. I was finished by midnight. I did
an internal installation, removed the power supply, hardwired the
board inside scanner case and found a transformer for an external
power supply. When I fired it up, the scanner worked fine.
Loaded the software, and it took right of. So far I have found
no faults.
Hardwiring it in, I was really checking soldering, with a
magnifying glass and a DMM. I found a few that were shaky, so I
redid them right away. I mounted the DB-9 jack in the hole where
the power cord used to exit (nibbled it out a little), and it
looks like it was factory-built back there.
I can see all kinds of possibilities for this little rig. I
use several computer-controlled radios (specrum analyzers) in my
work, so this is a "busman's holiday" for me. I suspect there
will be some really nice software applications coming out soon.
When I try to explain what this system can do, my friends don't
believe me. It is GREAT!
