Al Qassam website - The Palestinian media Coalition denounced the kidnap of the writer and journalist Seri Sammour on Monday by Israeli occupation forces, after storming his house in the city of Jenin in the north of the West Bank, two days after the arrest of journalist Ghofraan Zamel from Al Ain refugee camp and journalist Mohamed Mona from Nablus.

The Palestinian Media Coalition is gravely concerned for the continued pursuit and arrest of Palestinian journalists by the occupation authorities. There are six other journalists in the Zionist jails; they are: Walid Khalid, Nizar Ramadan, Mohammed Al Qiq, Amjad Shawamreh, Hossam Badran and Sami Assi, all from the West Bank.

The coalition called on all press and human rights organizations to shed light on this policy which is contrary to all international norms and conventions which ensure the freedom of movement and transfer of news and information for journalists. Also, he called on all international institutions, especially the institution, "Reporters without Borders" and "International Federation of Journalists" and all Arab and international unions to shed light on these practices and to demand their release without conditions.

The coalition said that the increasing number of journalists detained in Zionist jails asserts that there is a Zionist programmed-policy "to silence" the Palestinian press as it was done with "Bethlehem 2000" radio.
