We have had this film broadcast nationwide on Channel 4. I taped it. :cool:

Is it so readily available in the USA, I suspect not ?

They did put it on DVD and it's been available at a some of the major retailers such as the Border's book chain.

I was startled to see it there too. Most white Americans probably never heard of it by now and think it's just an old western or something. Too bad. Lillian Gish was splendind and the movie still has some great moments.

Lillian Gish is/was a stunner :) One of the most beautiful women who ever lived, in my opinion.

We were given a warning before they played the film, which would have gained a few extra viewers no doubt.

I have an original poster to advertise the film. I believe it's worth a few bob :D

Unfortunately,the DVD edition has a propaganda documentary,about hoe "racist" it is,and how it's inspired nigger filmakers to make "more truthful depictions" of niggers in movies(Yes!,like "Sweet sweetback",or "shaft",or "greased lightning",or "bingo long/motor kings",or every martin lawrence/chris tucker movie,or "posse",or "higher learning"!....but I digress....)

In my opinion, Birth of a Nation was quite truthful in depicting the niggers!

Totally!I totally agree!It 's obviously the devils who put the DVD together,that are in denial about the shitskins.

Great film I have it on DVD also have the original 1920's book The Klansman! :D

Oh and just a minor point. Walter Long was in 'Birth of a Nation'. He was that guy who was in a lot of Laurel and Hardy films, the 'big bruiser' with the broken nose. Excellent stuff !

Anyone know what Longs career was, prior to his link with Laurel and Hardy ? He must have been a boxer or wrestler, to look like that.

I like some of the Laurel & Hardy films like the one with the bandit called Diabolo and the French Foreign Legion one! :D
