I’ve known Eduardo for years. He's a good guy and a true example of fair play, coach Bilic said in defense of Eduardo da Silva.

Slaven Bilic, coach of the Croatian national soccer team, gave an exclusive interview to the British paper The Sun. In his interview Bilic commented on Terry’s attacks against Croatia’s player Eduardo da Suilva.

- When Didier Drogba throws himself while wearing Chelsea jersey, Mr. John Terry does not speak the same way. I do not claim that Drogba provokes penalties and I admire Terry as a player, but I want to say that when they get penalties, they do not condemn their teammates - said Bilic. He added that he cannot be certain that English players are always genuine about it.

- I’ve known Eduardo know for years. If anyone knows him, I know him. He does not provoke penalties on purpose. He's a good boy, good athlete, professional and a true example of fair play. He sometimes waits for the contact. Maybe there wasn’t a penalty against Celtic, but you cannot deny that there was no contact. Do not forget that he returned only recently after suffering a serious injury - said Bilic, and noted that he does not care why Terry does it, but concludes that it’s all part of the game.

'We can win at Wembley again'

In fact, says Bilic, speaking of fair play it is not fair that Terry says something like that just before the game. Bilic said he believes that this whole fuss will not leave a mark on Eduardo because ‘Dudu is strong, clean and not guilty’. As for the game, the Croatian coach said that he believes in his players and their ability to repeat the Wembley victory.

- English victory in Maksimir was well deserved, end of story. It was a great shock for us. The English think that there is a rank difference between the two teams, but I think we can win at Wembley again. I believe in my players. We lost Modric and that was a big blow, however, our team can make up for his absence – Bilic concluded. The English were interested if Bilic plans to take on coaching of any other clubs after leaving the helm of the Croatian national team, but Bilic did not reveal much.

- I have a project at the moment, I have a job and my contract runs until the end of qualifying season so I am focused on that only – Slaven Bilic concludes.
