ZACHARY, LA (WAFB) - Zachary police arrested a Baker woman Monday who is accused of hiding a 12-pack of beer between her legs to steal it from a grocery store.
Lisa Newsome, 42, is the woman police believe surveillance video showed waddling out of Crossroads Grocery in Zachary with half a case of Miller Lite between her legs.
Cpt. David McDavid said he's never seen anything like that before. It was all caught on the surveillance camera at Crossroads Grocery in Zachary.
A woman wearing an oversized house coat stuffed the beer up her dress and tucked a couple of sodas in there as well in early August.
Police said during questioning Newsome admitted to stealing the items from the grocery store. "She attempted to show us how she did it," said McDavid. "But we told her not to pull her pants down."
McDavid said Newsome has been arrested 40 times and has several convictions. Her arrests include felony theft, possession of cocaine, and writing worthless checks. According to Newsome's rap sheet, she's even operated under several different aliases.
