Al Qassam Website/Agencies - “Everything published on the Shalit deal this week is just balloons in the sky,” Hamas leader Salah Al Bardawail said Saturday.
The comments came following the publication of a report saying Egypt and Israel had reached a “new understanding” around the issue in the London-based Arabic language newspaper As-Sharq Al-Awsat.
Bardawil’s sentiments echo those of Popular Resistance Committees spokesman Abu Mujahid, who insisted no deal has been reached with Israel over the release of captured Zionist soldier Gilad Shalit.
For his part, Abu Mujahid said he still considered Zionist forces as hindering the completion of the exchange deal, which insists in the release of the sick, the elderly, women and children prisoners, he said. “Israel can finish the file in a matter of hours,” he added, saying the demands of Gaza factions and Shalit’s captors were clear.
The PRC spokesman cautioned media on the publication of stories around the exchange of Shalit for 1,000 Palestinian prisoners, saying false hope had a negative impact on Palestinian families waiting for their sons and daughters to come home.
