that was addressed in Seymour Hersh's book on the Israeli nuke program, "The Sampson Option." Apparently the Izzy bioweapons scientists and old SA types were working on race specific bioweapons. The Jew effort was abandoned because the Arabs are too close to Jews, genetically, to weaponize.

An interesting side note, "person of interest" in the anthrax investigation, Steven Hatfill is a former Rhodesian, I think, with a degree in biochem from a SA universtiy, who worked at Ft Detrick.
