I read like a fanatic - 700-800 pages or approx. 2 books a week - so I'm always curious to what others are reading. I've a book source back east that suits my needs and current financial scernario well, so if anyone is interested I'll give the info. Any questions on the books, just ask.
Ian Uys, Bushman Soldiers: Their Alpha and Omega
C.G. Sweeting, Hitler's Personal Pilot: The life and times of Hans Baur
Constantine Pleshakov, The Tsar's Last Armada: The epic journey to the battle of Tsushima
Fred Hobson, Mencken: A Life
Peter Novobatzky & Ammon Shea, Insulting English

book about berg murder and order-- worthwhile reading for forum members but poorly written and annoying at most times in its overwhelming sympathy for the mouthy Jew-- here available at amazon for one cent, no lie: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0425113299/qid=1096467479/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-0429591-3574461?v=glance&s=books
stuff from this book about Das Rheingold which I am going to see this weekend: Wagner's Ring, Turning the Sky Around by Owen Lee http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0879101865/qid=1096467566/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-0429591-3574461?v=glance&s=books

Rhinegold by Stephan Grundy (my favorite book of all time.)
Werewolf- the nazi resistance movement 1944-1945
Book of the Gods -part1
Saga of the Icelanders
Prisoner of peace-Letters from Rudolf Hess
My favorite novels for pure entertainment would probably be Sven Hassel or Leo Kessler novels despite a lot of the anti hitler, anti war defeatist attitude in them.

The last five books - in the last two to three months:
Pat Buchanan - Death of the West
Clive Cussler - Lost City
Clive Cussler - Golden Buddha
Patrick O'Brian - Post Captain
Patrick O'Brian - Master and Commander
I enjoy adventure/action stuff in the warmer months. As the weather gets colder I become more inclined to read heavier subject matter.

A White Man speaks out-Glenn Miller
How to win friends and influence people- Dale Carnegie (Doesn't seem to be working for me)
The Count of Monte Cristo- Alexandre Dumas (I know Dumas was a quadroon but he sure can spin a great revenge yarn)
Shogun-James Clavell
Froggy Gets Dressed- Jonathan London (my 4 year old thinks it's way cool and I like it for the great character development) :D

Interesting list, also good to see there is another Leo Kessler fan!
Unfortunately his books are not to be found anymore except in second hand bookshops. I will devote a thread to them when I find time.
Since the internet came, I almost stopped reading real books made of paper and ink. There are so many free classics in computerformat available now. The only problem is you have to read from the screen and I still didn't find a simple piece of software to keep track of the page you're reading.
The last paper books I read were the 2 books of Laurence Gardner about the Grail family, autobiography of Pim Fortuyn, a dutch language book by a writer called Boon about the Dutch Revolution, and now I am reading a bok by A.J.P.Taylor called "The Second Worldwar".

I must say I like real books, especially leather bound, I love the craftmanship that goes into really good book binding.
5 books I have recently read (in the last 3 months).
1. The high kings (about the Celts).
2.The dark spirit (Celtic folklores).
3.Classic tales of Horror.
4.Tales of the dead (horror).
5.Chilling xmas tales(horror).
I read about a book a fortnignt and have bookcases full of various topics, mostly Germanic history, Horror also original NS books (1930s-1940s) German and Dutch in my study.
I have always enjoyed reading almost as much as fighting, I love a good fight makes me feel alive! :D

A few years ago I started reading a book about the Irish Kings and High-Kings, I wonder if it's the same book?
I have some NS-books of the 30s-40s myself, unfortunately my family burned some of them.
I hope ever to get the time to scan some of it and put it on the internet.
The horror-genre is completely politically correct now. To read some good material you have to check out H.P. Lovecraft.

It's by Joy Chant has some great images.
I have some NS-books of the 30s-40s myself, unfortunately my family burned some of them.
Sorry to hear that Comrade, that is a real loss!
I have got my Grandfathers NSB jacket, Peaked Cap and belt and holster, membership book and some other items (they had been stored/hidden at his mothers) in the loft. I also bought loads of NSB books and newspapers of militaria dealers. Also bought a few NSB medals, and was given other items by old NSB members. My family was NSB so things were easier for me.
I hope ever to get the time to scan some of it and put it on the internet.
My Website (Some of the links don't work as I have not finnish it adding photo's from my collection yet, infact I have hardly started). Should be about 60 NSB/WA items when finnish maybe more:
http://www.precious-things.co.uk/dietsland.htm
and here is a link to a friends NSB collection.
http://www.home.zonnet.nl/gijsen5/1Home-Page.htm and on the right click on collection link. He has some nice items in his collection.
The horror-genre is completely politically correct now. To read some good material you have to check out H.P. Lovecraft.
Now early horror which is what I like is totaly un-pc, always calls blacks Coon or Niggers and often refers to them as ape like (which they are)! I have most of H.P. Lovecrafts books behind me in my study, he was married to a jew you know.

I liked Monte Cristo quite a bit.
As for Carnegie, you need to try and do his advice. Try using people's names and quit calling them "hey you yeah you asshole" for starters. LOL

Hmm..I think arrows through the neck is a little bit much for a 4 year old. I think I'll wait until he's 5 before I turn him into a Visigoth/Spartan killing machine! ;)

Is Raimondo's book worth picking up new? Or can you esentially get his gist simply by reading his site?
Sidenote: Have any of you folks seen him speak? That's one very weird, freaky dude. I had to take the kids out of the room when he was speaking (on CSPAN) at the Reform Party Conference in 2000, as he was frightening them.

I think his book is worth having cuz then you've got it all in one place to loan to the unconvinced if you like. Plus, to reward him for being the only guy to write it down, he deserves the royalty.
Mr Fancypants, the picture of the person getting shot through the neck, was from the Odyssey book. Ulysses shooting a suitor through the neck on his return. So, my five year old has got some Spartan and Visigothic blood so he is by nature pretty interested in action so to speak. Last night he wanted to see them put the cyclops' eye out again too.

That Carnegie stuff amounts to mirroring your potential buddy, becoming bland and inoffensive - the perfect team player. Showing respect for others is fine, depending on who the others are, but to shave all the edges off one's identify to fit with others go too far. Carnegie in the forties prepared the bed for Semitical Correctness in the eighties.
Manners is an interesting subject. Wouldn't you suppose that, as with most areas of human endeavor, one could develop oneself infinitely in that direction? Become sensitive to the tiniest vibes of others; accustom oneself perfectly and instantly to recognize and supply them. Everyman a butler?
I think, in a world of limited time, it's better to practice basic manners and accept that each of us will, from time to time, offend others without meaning to, and that rather than each of us perfect our manners, we learn to forgive others certain mistakes. And use the time to develop primary rather than secondary virtues.

I think I have that Lenin book, among others. The best essay by Lenin is "Imperialism as a Late Stage of Capitalism" which I think is in that collection.
A word on Lenin: skip the economics drivel, focus on the subversive lessons.

A word on Lenin: skip the economics drivel, focus on the subversive lessons. Yep, that's in there (though I think you meant, "Imperialism: the Highest Stage of Capitalism"). I found "What is to be Done?" to be really good insight into the twisted thoughts of this half-jew, "Father of Modern Terrorism", psychopathic cocksucker.

Here's the last bunch:
Mark Mazower, Inside Hitler's Grecce: The Experience of Occupation, 1941-1944
My golly, this was about as philo-Semitic as a WWII book can get. I only read it because I wasn't all that familar with the occupation. Regardless, I'd recommend staying away this lefty and his works. Tragic, though, the Greek famine, in '41, was. The Germans and Italians could've done much more, if only from a propaganda standpoint, to avert the diaster.
Kate Mcintyre, The Desk Lamp: An Appreciation
Not a lot here, other than an ode to this guardian of the male desk. I'm a huge fan of the deco and mid-century moderne aesthetic, especially odd little accoutrements like lighting, hence this one.
Anthony Sutton, National Suicide: Military Aid To The Soviet Union
This was a re-read, as I was a big fan of Sutton while in college. It, at least at the time, was a real eye-opener to a bright-eyed anti-Com at the time. Basically, it's a compendium of a vast slew of technological transfers to our arch-enemy of the time, Russia. I never trusted another thing Reagan ever said again, after reading several of Sutton's books. This was especially true when one takes into account the death of Americans in Vietnam, directly related to U.S. - Soviet trade at the time.
Jean Loussier & Robin Langley Sommer, Lost Europe: Images of a Vanished World
Basically, this is a pictorial history of famous buildings that, well, no longer exist. Although the majority of the losses transpired during warfare - primarily WWII - several of these lost treasures were destroyed by other means - e.g., floods, fires, earthquakes, etc. To envision European history evaporated by by a thousand B-17s isn't a pleasant thought.
John Carver Edwards, Berlin Calling: American Broadcasters in Service to The Third Reich
This was a very slick book. It highlights the 6 most prominent Americans who volunteered their services to Germany in WWII. Many here at VNN have probably read Donald Day's book as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, but this book adds 5 more to the mix. All in all, a very fair look at the rationale behind these 6 individuals deciding to work for Dr. Goebbels.
Heinz Werner Schmidt, With Rommel in the Desert
Nothing all that special here that one can't get out of Irving's, or for that matter, a hundred other books on the subject. Schmidt was an aide-de-camp for the German Field Marschal in Africa.
Joeseph Sullivan (ed.), Embassies Under Siege: Personal Accounts By Diplomats On The Front Line
This was a great little quick read. I've never had much interest for novels, but this reads like one. It's a compliation of nine stories of American diplomats during attacks on our embassies. The episodes include the following: Uganda, Iran, Afganistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Kuwait, El Salvador, Liberia & Somalia. Lesson learned: 3rd-world filth can get very, very angry. *lol* One odd fact, however, there wasn't a section on our evacuation in Saigon.
Paul Eddy & Magnus Linklater, War in The Falklands: The Full Story
Nothing all that special here, just an old tract by the Sunday Times of London on the War. The Brits kicked Argie ass, should suffice.
Hilaire Belloc, The Path to Rome: A portrait of Western Europe before the World Wars
Belloc is a Western treasure, on par with Burke, Kipling or Chesterton, imho. Well, at least close. :) When one takes into consideration the utter destruction the White world has endured since 1914, this book is a godsend, as it were. Basically, it is a spiritual pilgrimage of sorts for Belloc, in which he walked from Southern France to Rome. This edition is an old Regnery reprint - God bless the Regnery family - though, I couldn't find out the original edition, nor it's date of publication. Truly a page flipper, in all ways imaginable. Belloc makes the pages come alive in his descriptive prose, and, even if one has no interest in the geography or time period, should be read if only for his erudition alone. An Edwardian feast - nothing more, nothing less.
Joseph Vecsey, Mindszenty the Man
This is the story of the ordeals endured by Hungarian Cardinal, Jozsef Mindszenty, under the Jewish/Communist regime in Budapest. It's an old tract that I'd started, but never finished, years ago. His speech to Hungarian patriots, after being freed in 1956, prior to the Soviet counter-attack, is worthy of patriots everywhere. This is a version of the Western faith that takes no prisoners, so to speak; as it is a defense of the racial West and our unique cultural history, imo.

Greetings Intrepid. Can't say I have read any of these but there are so many good books out there and so little time. I will be searching out the one about Cardinal Mindszenty. It sounds like a very good book. It seems you are a prolific reader. Well, here is my list. The Great Holocaust Trial by Hoffman
The Wolf of the Kremlin by Stuart Kahan
They Were White and They Were Slaves by Hoffman
My Awakening by Duke
Gruesome Harvest by Keeling
The Holocau$t Industry by Finkelstein
Redneck Manifesto by J. Goad
You Gentiles by Maurice Samuel
The Franklin Coverup by Senator John DeKamp
Judaism's Strange Gods by Hoffman (my favorite so far)
Cointelpro by Blackstock
Crimes and Mercies by Bacque
Secret Societies and Psychological Warfare by Hoffman
Hoffman Contra the Khazars by who else....Hoffman
Jewish History/Jewish Religion by Israel Shahak
The Hidden Tyrrany by Benjamin Freedman
The Fame of a Dead Man's Deeds by Michael Griffin
Jewish Power by Goldberg
Death of the West by Buchanan

Damn, you've got some good ones in there. I didn't know Hoffman had so many books. I've only read his They were White and they were Slaves.
As far as the Mindszenty book, you'd be better off reading David Irving's Uprising, on the Hungarian Revolution, imo. I've seen it used for a reasonable price, too.

Uprising it is then! Thanks for the tip. BTW, Hoffman's Judaism's Strange Gods is so damn good, I read it twice and am thinking about breaking it out again. I would highly recommend it. He really nails this subject down. The Great Holoco$t Trial by him is an account of the trial of Ernst Zundel and has much of the goings on in the courtroom and it reveals how badly EZ and his young female lawyer trounced the best the kikes could come up with to refute him.

Great stuff this thread, guys.
My latest are these, all of which will make their way into reviews or something on VNN proper:
Final Judgment - recommended by many, proves jews killed JFK. I bought the third edition, a friend loaned the 6th - it's about twice as long, lots of added documentation over the years. truly great book. Piper writes for American Free Press, successor to Spotlight.
Bias - by jew Bernard Goldberg - CBS man exposes the lib slant. doesn't name the jews directly, so it's one step from us, but lots of great anecdotes, all of which will be posted when i get to it.
The Thought Police -- by Diane Ravitch, i think she's a jew. But she documents another aspect of media control: textbooks. they come from 4 huge suppliers. mcgraw-hill, a dutch, british, and french co. and they all have guidelines that basically force the writers to produce pap and anti-characters, just like you see on tv, where nigs are shown as responsible authorities.
A Hundrerd Little Hitlers -- recounts death of mulegetaw seraw, freakin killed by a couple skins. the case that led to metzger's being sued by splc. some interesting background on portland race relations, and oregon, which was intently anti-nigger. just because the abolitionists wanted to free the niggers in the south didn't mean they wanted them running around where they lived! DiLorenzo at LRC cites this as further proof they're evil, but won't say why, despite repeated questions, ha.

This was my thought also which is why I went to abebooks.com and bought them for a few bucks used. I figure the damage had already been done. Letters of the Younger Pliny. Gotta have some pleasure to balance out one's character. Rome is and should be a constant inspiration.
The National Front, by Nigel Fielding. 1981. Interesting sociological study of the UK political party that once had 25,000-50,000 members. Author is at times unwittingly sympathetic to the rationale of the Front.
The National Front, by Martin Walker, 1977. Journalist admits to be happy helping mankind become a 'pleasantly coffee-coloured' cookie monster and tries to dish the dirt on the history of the Front. Not a hack-job, but laughably presumptuous at times.
Introduction to the Reading of Hegel. Alexandre Kojeve. 1968. Great stuff on 'the end of history' and the modern Universal State. One for the way the future is going.
Portnoy's Complaint. Jew Roth jews jewily on Judaism, Jewish neuroses, and just plain Jewism in a funny and very telling book about snipdicks and their strange lives. Narrator is against religion and for the 'dignity of mankind' - i.e., Communism - yet wants a gentile girlfriend to convert to Judaism. She laughs at him, they break up. The hatred of the Jew for WASP happiness and confidence is astronomical.

The Germans and Italians could've done much more, if only from a propaganda standpoint, to avert the diaster.
.........
An Edwardian feast - nothing more, nothing less.
.
re the Greece occupation book, I have that one because there is so little on the story. it does show three things which I do agree with in spite of his obvious lefist bias: 1) the Germans were pretty honorable at first and predictably the Greeks were not very upset with the occupation until the famine 2) the andartes, or communists, were a bunch democracy loving rabble rousers who didnt mount much of a resistance and 3) when the Jews were deported from Salonika, the Greeks were on the net cooperative and pleased with this benificent gesture from the Germans. Predictably so!
As for Belloc, I havent read that one, but two others. He was a great writer and historian. I much enjoy him.

Yes, it's hard to get books, in English at least, on the war in the Adriatic, as a whole. It's the same problem with detailed histories of the era in Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, etc. I can usually sift through the leftist, anti-German bilge pretty well, but I really did get the impression the Germans could've done much more to alleviate the famine, though.
What other Belloc books have you read?

I've a dozen or so of their books, but I'd never ordered directly from them. I had no idea they had so many rare out-of-print titles - e.g., C. Lindbergh's fathers three economic tracts on money and the Federal Reserve, Freemasons etc. Take a gander at the various titles - that is, if you're not already familar with them - and I'm sure you'll find a few gems. There is, however, a slew of claptrap, so a good sifting through the titles is recommended.

When I took a couple years of German in high school, my textbook was always quick to include pics of Turks and sometimes niggers as "average German kids" every chance they got. WTF???
Oh yeah, and this book series had a set of tapes with it... in one, 3 skinheads just pop up out of nowhere and start harassing some Turk girl eating outside of a resturaunt. All of a sudden, some big kraut chef inside hears the girl calling for help, runs out, kicks the shit out of one skinhead, and the other 2 flee.
After this, he says something to the Turk girl along the lines of "Don't worry, I know those types. They're cowards when they're alone" or something like that.
The subliminal messages in these textbooks and tapes are hardly subtle.

Nah, the WW II books go down, like good vodka, quick 'n smooth. I waste far too much time on them, as I really don't learn a hell of a lot anymore from 'em. I was looking for stuff about Antarctica and happened across Ice Reich by William Dietrich. Sort of about the polar expedition. Nazis are the bad guys, but I enjoyed the book. Rooting for the bad guy :-) It didn't take much mental gymnastics on my part to read the American pilot hero character as a shallow, dishonorable, woman-stealing butthead, the woman as a delusionary bitch and the Nazi dude as a perfect example of nice guys finishing last :-)
Other than that it was a decent book, because the author's been to Antarctica and it's an atmospheric, page-turner adventure story. Kinda Indiana Jones stuff.
I see from the reviews that some other folks were also disappointed not to see UFOs on the horizon :-)

I've been reading two books lately, Tom Jones, by Henry Fielding, and Mencken's book The American Language. Tom Jones is excellent in the way the good English novels of centuries ago usually are: the sentences are beautifully formed, and the writers have a good teasing quality to them.
Allow me to wax didactic: The way to learn to write is from textbooks and from great writers. The textbooks teach you what is WRONG. It is far beyond the mind of a textbook writer to teach you what is right, which has a spiritual, aesthetic essence textbook writers are unbuilt to understand, as their calling lies in the great alfalfa fields of persnicketiness. Which has its place, and is not to be scoffed at or scorned, for from the ranks of the properly literate they train come the readers of the minority that knowns, more or less instinctively, how to write right rather than not incorrectly.
The great writers alone can teach or bring out of the gifted what is RIGHT -- unusual usages; the capacity for using words unusually -- and all the rest. And the right is greater and more important than avoiding the wrong. Wrong-avoiders seldom realize this because it's more fun to look down. Themselves too afraid of getting something wrong, they've no time left to appreciate what is right, and console themselves by shrieking out those wronger than they. If they were wise, they would look up and delight, but this run never do; theirs ever to gurn and tut schoolmarmishly. But verily I say unto you, it is little, and not big.
Avoiding what is wrong is the great obsession of the middle-class -- even so, avoiding what is wrong is something in itself, and more than that, it is all that is necessary for the average person. Being able to do what is right in writing is in large measure a gift; but avoiding what is wrong is within everyone's ability, he simply must learn the rules. But the average person today does not know the rules thanks to today's shmuel-schools, in which it is important only that you feel the right way, not that you know anything.
Now, on page 284, Fielding is describing a man contemplating forced marriage to a hot chick who hates him, but whose father is bent on contracting a solid alliance with a neighboring gentry. The guy doesn't even like the girl, but he loves her endowment. And he's thinking about the icing on the cupcake:
Blifil therefore looked on this human ortolan with greater desire than when he viewed her last; nor was his desire at all lessened by the aversion which he discovered in her to himself. On the contrary, this served rather to heighten the pleasure he proposed in rifling her charms...
Several comments could be made on this brief passage. It could never be used in any modern textbook. A father forcing his daughter to marry the man of his, not her, choice is patriarchal. Ortolan, the national bird of France (I think mentioned in Camp of the Saints), couldn't be used on a SAT test because niggers don't encounter ortolans in their daily discombobulations. But what I like best is the 'rifling her charms.' What a great way to put it. Not only is it nice in itself, it is very suggestive. Hmm...here a tit...another...mmm...tight responsive stomach...ooh! and a warm moist crevice! I like it!... A magazine rack is not the only thing can be rifled, we see. Latent satiric usages spring to mind. How perfect in attacking some Dworkin lesbian or angry malkin she-witch of unrifled charms. Think how much it sucks to be a fat chick and have your charms go unrifled! That's why god invented alcohol.
You see - this writer has just been tutored, been elevated, been EDUCATED -- drawn out of himself and his microscopic time/space into a broader world -- by Mr. Henry Fielding. He knows more than he did a page ago. His mind teems with fresh suggestion, fresh capability, new arrows to shoot are in the quiver. Soon new game will be in the hamper. Finding new ways to mock morons is the it and essence of learning - separating the gut from the Guttenberg. Again, you can try to get this in school, but you try to get blood from a stone or a candied yam away from Rigoberta Munchu - it's not happening.
In a school system based on See Spot Run. Leak, spot, leak -- you're not going to get anything that repays effort. You're going to be tortured until you hate reading - it's too good for you.
You find in the best works new words, new uses. An example:
She ran over the names of many young gentlemen; and having greatly commended their parts and persons, assured Sophia that she might take her choice of of any. These methods must have certainly been used with some success in disorders of the like kind, or so skillful a practitioner as Mrs. Honour would never have ventured to apply them; nay, I have heard that the college of chambermaids hold them to be as sovereign remedies as any in thefemale dispensary...
So we see how women are - an important thing to know. And that use of sovereign - more or less clear from context, but that's not good enough. We repair to dictionary.com http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=sovereign
Having supreme rank or power: a sovereign prince.
Paramount; supreme: Her sovereign virtue is compassion.
1. Of superlative strength or efficacy: a sovereign remedy.
2. Unmitigated: sovereign contempt.
Aha. I always associated sovereign with political independence - only. And that is the first definition. But there are several others. My ignorance is alleviated. My education is advanced again by that much. I am freer of my native tongue than two pages ago. I have been educated by a man fit to teach.
And so on, as far as one chooses to pursue. Always delightful, always instructive, always in the right spirit, always willing and able to entertain - this is what the great writers offer, and free to all who eat them. No tuition charge, just thought. But you go on ahead and get your "English" education by reading cretins of color and commies of kike. I spit on that, for I know better - I know the best. If they write better than you do, open their book and let them teach you at your pace. Learn the rules as if they were math, but learn how to write RIGHT from the great ones, and anyone who says writers don't matter, or the notion of great is bogus, that man is a fraud and a quack and should be cut open and have his innards, if any innards there be, made into strings for instruments of some tennis-variant sporting game.

Free to Hate: Rise of the Right in Post-Communist Eastern Europe, by Paul Hockenos. Laughably moralistic; nevertheless the opening 100 pages on Germany are a tour-de-force of race riots and unhinged market capitalism. Did you know that in the early 90s a German skinhead leader was murdered - shot in the face by a Greek pornographer with a shotgun - for attacking a disreputable sex shop run by this, and another, foreigner? Hoyerswerda uprising (five [!] successive nights of native-on-darkie protest) covered in detail.
History of England, by Lord MacAulay. Brilliant stuff - back when constitutionalists were true patriots and noble men. However, I'm disgusted by the abridgement, which treats the reader like a baby with its spoon-fed precis's.
Essays, by Plutarch. Examining a collection of essays by any Classical writer shows you the vigour we sullen moderns have lost. The first essay is addressed to a young man on the discipline of listening, once an art great men aspired to do well, now a congenital 'virtue' every pleb from Sambo to Smithson thinks he possesses when the required amount of decibels reach his ear drums and he deigns to acknowledge the fact. I needn't force my hand.
Recently read the Goebbels diaries (final volume). Quite chilling, seeing the fate of a world war unravelled before one's eyes.

A German wrote a book "Fuhrer-Ex" a few years ago; it's not bad. He was the child of a couple of hippies, as I recall, and I think his father ran East German radio. Quite an interesting book. I took a little tour in East Germany in 1987, one thing I'm truly glad I was able to experience. Public ad council messages in America always remind me of East Germany's communist slogans I saw painted on walls. Forcing people to pretend that something is true even though both parties know it isn't - to me that is characteristically jewish form of tyranny.

Gawd! What a well read piece of shit you are! You Paleo-cons make me sick! Quoting from so-called "conservative" conventional sources with a "twist", whose only mission is to make things seem unconventional while at the same time having a low tolerance for risktakers and "talent fanatics" at the right end of the racial curve.
What is it with you canny sammy types who believe that "process" beats "passion" and "analysis" beats "action?"
You just don't get it do you, Intrepid! Reading Solzhenitsyn, Lefkowitz, Birstein and Rubin isn't going to save the White man!
But then you always knew that, didn't you Moishe?

I am reading Ernst Junger's Storm of Steel. This is a WW1 book, very exciting. If you liked Celine's WW1 book you'll like this. This one isnt funny like Celine, but a great accompaniment and will banish your bad memories of Remarque.

Three of my favorites are "Lord Jim" by Joseph Conrad, "Far From The Madding Crowd" by Thomas Hardy, and "Of Human Bondage" by Somerset Maughm. Seems like a lot of my favorite authors are 19th Century and English. The novel really didn't take off in America until well into the 20th Century, when the ideas of Modernism (i.e. Communism, Zionism) were already well-entrenched, giving us crap like Hemmingwaste and Kerouac.
The writing in these three books is indeed beautiful, inspiring, and full of great moral lessons. In these books, people learn lessons on bravery, honor, love, work and religion, all from a distinctly White and in the case of Hardy's novels, a paganistic viewpoint. (Somerset Maughm was a bi-sexual, but he wrote a great novel about the meaning of life, the danger of Christianity, the beauty of Aryan women, the inspiring power of art, and the danger of loose, controlling women and how they can ruin a "sensitive" male.) I think every White student should read these three books.

I dont think I have read any of those books. That looks like a pretty boring list. I would probably read the Kennan book if somebody gave it to me for free. I did read a biography of Koestler once, but not that one. I seriously doubt anybody but the most odd and boring of fellows would be sitting around reading that list. That sounds like a boring Jewish history professor's semester syllabus. I think I'd rather cut my grass with scissors than have to read that list.

I would think Intrepid would choose some more interesting titles to lie about? Most of his choices I would consider rather prosaic (victor's or at least sanitized history) treatments of admittedly compelling subject matter.
Most of the titles weren't necessarily dealing from the perspective of the victor, nor the vanquished, as a rule. Lots of general European history, e.g., Saramago 's & Cross' books were utterly fascinating works on subjects I knew little about previously. Unlike my usual reading, it's not a steady diet of WWII tracts. (On that subject, I concur with you. I typically prefer the German perspective of the events, as it's a hell of a lot more interesting. Problem is, they're usually, as they're printed in much smaller runs, much more expensive & rarely go into surplus or closeouts). However, yes, there's a slew of books I've recently read on the Soviets, admitedly, with an anti-com slant. So, though I doubt this was your point, you're correct, as my disdain for the total state doesn't need to rely on esoteric cranks & psuedo-historians to validate my position.
I only list the books, Doppel, as someone might have interest in the subject matter, which I'd gladly give a thumbs-up or down - not to bring the usual defectives, i.e., the choleric drunkard or the conspiracy nut, out of the woodwork. Braggadocio can usually be better achieved not through the stacks on one's nightstand, no?

Now, that's a daily chuckle! Paris must've been an older, refined looking third-grader. Suffice it to say, other than Steve's disturbing pedo dream prior to his nightly black-out, he's geographically all over SoCal, to boot. Moreso, one doesn't usually get kicked out of a junior college, only to prance right in to a fairly prestigous, expensive private university, especially if one is supposedly from "the other side of the tracks."
Btw, I lost the dog, my dane, who was previously poisoned 'bout 2 weeks ago. Blockage of the lower intestine by a... teddy bear head! The fuckin' vet didn't identify it. I had an autopsy done on it, which obviously found it, to see if its death was somehow a congenital issue, as he's been bred and still has frozen "ammo." If anyone is ever concerned over possible foul play or negligence done to their animals, it only cost me $73.00 at the local university here in AQ.

I also screwed Shirley Temple before she was black. But that also belongs in the nutzpah lounge and not here.
As to poisoning of dogs here is a great recipe for Danes. Buy some rat poison..the pellet kind. Then buy some kibbles....the chewy kind. Push the rat pellets into the kibbles one at a time until you have about 30 to 50 in a dog bowl. Then cook some bacon and pour the bacon grease over the kibbles/rat poison, set the bowl in the Danes yard(at nite with no witnesses) and watch the fun begin!
Most rat poisons kill by Anticoagulants which is just a fancy way of saying the rat/dog dies of internal bleeding. It's quite a painful death and takes days.
Can you imagine the anguish and mental distress Intrepid would/did experience over something like this? It brings a tear to my eye!!!

Last real book I read, made of paper was the 900 page big fucker Citizens: A Chronicle of the French Revolution. I will tell you its main conclusion:
The French revolution wasn't caused because the people were "hungry" and "suppressed", but because the government already started to "democratize" France before 1789. But it was this "revolutionary democracy" that then indeed caused poverty and oppression.
I also noted (the writer didn't, because the book was published in 1989) how the pre-revolutionary France had quite a lot in common with the presentday USA. Debt en interest, that can only be paid by more debt and interest. An undemocratically elected leader who wastes money on silly wars. Growing freedom of speech because the printing presses/internet are growing like wildfire and can't be suppressed, nor can the radical opinions be suppressed. So who knows, maybe we will see a guillotine on the lawn of the White House in a few years.
Don't buy this book. Don't read it, unless you have nothing better to do (I hadn't). It is mostly filled with the personal stories of the revolutionary figures. It has some interesting factoids about La Fayette, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington (who very wisely kept out of the French Revolution, showing that he was more intelligent than Wilson, Roosenfeld and Dubya) but 900 pages is far too long.
And you all did know (yaawn) that dr. Guillotin didn't invent the guillotine, only advocated its use instead of drawn and quartering.

I visited Esat-Germany in Sept. 1989 before the Wall came down. It was of course run down, but I "liked" it better than the Yankee occupied sector: No Niggers! No foreigners (except the Russian occupants), and most of all - NO ENGLISH! Everything written in German. It was a sight for sore eyes to see a Kindergarten beeing marched across the street by white police officers and most of the children were blond - and all were white and German. I haven't seen anything like this since over 20 years in the "West".
Aye lad the kids were probably all Poles. All the Germans had been kicked out of the east of Germany from Pommerania to east of Berlin, pushed out/pushed west/many exterminated by Russkies in the Gotterdammerung of 1945. Not that that would sit easy with your Phora type anti-Polack standpoint I suppose?.

For evidence, just take a look at the demographic data for current day regions such as Konigsberg (de Germanised and filled with Slavs and renamed Kaliningrad, or the whole area of what was Third-Reich Prussia until the last political vestige of Prussia was achieved when it was finally abolished as an administrative entity in October 1947: (major cities such as Bromberg, Breslaw - slavicised and renamed again as Bydzgoscsz and Wroclaw for its Polish residents . Poles, many of whom had themselves had been displaced from Polish territories by westward migrating Russians from the mid 1940's onwards).
My recommended choice for the comprehensive book on the area and its history is by Sebastian Haffner who wrote "The Rise and fall of Prussia". Haffner was in many ways a flawed personality and became infamous amongst European nationalists for advising the UK government that the "hard core" of Nazi revolutionaries were concentrated in the SS and could therefore be easily liquidated" as the SS had become "for all practical purposes the human integration of Nazism - Nazism incarnate".
Despite his flawed political thinking and anti-Nazism - he was however a Prussian who knew the intimate andcomplex history of the region; the central European region that became the DDR entity of East Germany, that included old Prussia and Pomerania, and which now encompasses the 'new' (post-Yalta Conference) Poland.

All Germans, everywhere, were forced to leave. About 15 million persons, I believe, were displaced and told to start walking towards what was left of Germany. My understanding is that this is the largest forced migration in history - at least in modern and even remotely modern history. Many died during the last winter and the winter following the capitulation.
Read Gotterdammerung 1945 (if you have a strong stomach and are prepared to cry a lot) about events in East Prussia, Pomerania and Silesia, or a more recent book (which I have not yet read myself) called Other Losses. Almost everyone who could do so left. What happened to those who didn't was graphically illustrated in towns like Nemmersdorf all through East Prussia (in particular). Even those who tried to get out in time were massacred whenever and however possible - for instance the Wilhelm Gustloff, or many reports of Soviet armored groupings simply grinding right over entire columns of German civilian refugees fleeing on the roads.
A particularly repellant jew controller at what used to be called the Axis History Forum often bragged about what happened to Germans or those of German descent who had lived in Latin and South America before the war. Their property was all seized and they were expelled penniless. The German presence in Latin America had been quite substantial before the war, the Germans owning and running many plantations (in an exemplary fashion which was fair to both natives and nature). This explusion happened all over the world.
Russian East Prussia (I won't use the idiotic name the Russians have temporarily given it) doesn't have a prayer despite being - again temporarily - depolulated of Germans. It will be German again as will Pomerania and Silesia. And I hope to be there at the re-dedication of the Hindenberg monument at Tannenberg.
This obscene forced migration of Germans from their homes - homes often for centuries - is the precedent upon which will be based the reclamation of our own country and of Europe. I sure hope.

Berlin was/is the capital of Prussia, East Germany. East Prussia was Slavicised and/or destroyed during and after WWII. East Germany proper, ie, west of the Oder, is fully German. Only 1 in 7 is Catholic. It's unbelievable how tiny Poland was at the beginning of WWI compared to today. They've got a nigger on their national football ('soccer') team.

I believe that you are making the common mistake of labelling all who fled in from the Soviet onslaught as Germans. The Prussian people (The tribal 'Prus'), the Baltic tribes, the Poles, the Lettlanders , Pomeranians and Estonians - several hundred thousand of whom fought with the Germans, were not German. Some were labelled as 'Polnisch' (Polack) or 'VolksDeutsch' (as was my father) and others fleeing west in 1945 were of many white races and were descendents of peoples who had over the centuries been under a variety of European rulers; German , Polish, Prussian - even the Swedish made military conquests and ruled over the populations as far south as Brodnica (sometimes known in periods of its history as Strasburg in West Prussia) and the invaders had left their genetic imprint on the populace.
To complicate this picture there were minor onslughts by Tatars from the east, Austrians from the south, Napoleons French forces invading from the west in the early 19th century and others. Many others.
The notion that "It will be German again" defies both sense and history - as the populations of that vast zone on central Europe were not wholly German (and never were), but were a mix of white tribes and white Races who were no more 'German' when under German control; than they were 'Russian' when under Russian control until 'Glasnost' and 'Solidarnosc' both became a Movement rather than a policy.
If Germans make the same mistake twice of trying to pretend that Poles and Prussians are 'German' or modern 'Volksdeutsch' or seek to use any other political artifice; the warlike free spirited white peoples of that zone will trounce them yet again. Have the lessons of even the first battle of Tannenberg been learned?.
There are many more white national groups in central Europe than Germans. Germans and faux-German Americans ignore that reality at their own cost.

Well, it's an interesting point, but I'm thinking maps and geopolitics. Lithuanians (according to M. Gimbutas anyway) aren't even Indo-European (ditto for Basques, Hungarians and Finns) and they are a fine people. You can't find better folk than the Finns either. I'm all for white peoples any and everywhere, and I'm all for Europe whether I'm faux European or Faux German or Faux Italian (Italian mother, German father). I must be faux American too, as there is no such thing as America - it died way before I was born, murdered by the jews who exploited our (american) total lack of culture to their advantage.
No matter how nice these little enclaves of white folk may be and no matter the naiveté of we faux people, as the other side of the coin (IE jews) didn't, don't and won't leave any white people alone until there are no more white people, the only hope for any of us is to be found in union into larger groupings. Culturally, the major Aryan groups are the Italian and German. And in them I see the only hope for a regeneration of European culture (how presumptuous for a faux person to speak of European anything, eh?). As without power a culture and nation is ...powerless, the lesson of a united and strong Germany is central. Thusly, the constant British/American/kike attempts to destroy her.
And, no nation has suffered more horribly than Germany at the hands of everything that is vile and ugly in this world. Had Germany won the war, our world would be a paradise today (comparatively speaking anyway) for all white people. Just because Balts have postage stamp 'countries' - complete with national debts payable to the jews that will take one hundred trillion years to pay off...doesn't mean the Balts are better off than they would have been if Germany had won the war. As you say, lots of white peoples were killed or sent packing (though that does not alter the number of 15 million Germans who were expelled - and my understanding is that Pomeranians are indeed and for sure Deutsch). Are you suggesting taking fragmentation to the point of a Pomeranian state as according to you Pomeranians are not really German? How about reviving The Grand Duchy of Modena then for the Modenese who no doubt also yearn to breath free? Maybe Sicily can be divided between Greek, Carthaginian and Indigenous regions/states? Personally, I don't see any point in going in that direction. But as you say lots of white people fled the Soviets - our difference is I see the VolksDeutsch the same way Germany did - as Germans. But, whatever you call them, lots of white people were in the SS - the first pan European military force. Every single European nation had men in the SS with the sole exception of Poland. As Germany sits astride central Europe she and only she can, and hopefully one day will, be the central force in a federation of brotherly cultures united in their common (mostly) ancestry. Again, thus the constant attempts by the jews and their Brit and American puppets to destroy her. Germans are the best and most humane people on earth and as was the case on the ground during the run up to and also during the war, most occupied nations bore the 'German yoke' quite lightly indeed. However, if it takes force to create a unified white nation/force strong enough to defend itself against the sludge of the world, then Germany, again, is the only answer I see or want to see.
Leon DeGrelle hoped that Hitler would see his way to OKing an independent Belgium after a victorious conclusion of the war, and that would have been very nice, I suppose. But on the other hand, so what if the Balts or Slovenes or Walloons do or don't have their comic opera states? This is survival we are addressing here. No one cares about a Slovenia for good reason - the idea is a joke that threatens no one and upsets no status quo. A free and strong Germany scares the crap out of the evil swine that run this world because only she has the potential to overturn this nightmare.
Therefore, though I sympathize with all cultures, Germany and Italy are everything for me. I can have great sympathy for the Balts and the Ukrainians and the (fill in the blanks) but, my heart is with the people who gave the world virtually everything that is great and good and noble. Schiller is German, Beethoven is German, Kant is German and then there are the Italians - even more plentiful in the realm of art and science.
For what Germany has given the world and for what Germany has suffered she has every right to East Prussia, Pomerania and Silesia - and, becoming a part of a German state would also be the best possible thing that could ever happen to whoever inhabits those regions.

Obviously we are dealing here with the twisted mind of a POLAK. It is typicaly of the chauvenist pan-slav ideology and the retarded historic view of Polaks that they constantly try to divide and atomize our population into imaginary "tribes", so that they have some sort of excuse to "liberate" them from "German opression".
Those People in our eastern Provinces who were ethnicly cleansed and murdered in 1945 were all Germans. There were no "Balts" unless you mean "German Balts". There were of course no POLAKS under them either, then why would Polaks need to flee from their slavic liberators? And most of all, why would the want to flee into Germany, the Nation they hate the most. (Old polish saying "As long as the world revolves around the sun, the Pole will never be the Germans friend").
And thats about the only thing I am willing to agree with this non-nation of thieves called "Poland".
The Polak obviously ignores the plebescites after WW1 where the people of those regions opted for Germany. In 1919 2,5 Million Germans lived under the terrorist regime of a polak chunta. In 1930 the polak industry minister was able to boast, that they were able to already drive 1 Million Germans across the border.
There was no such thing as a tribe of "Prussians" in the year 1945. They were Germans.
Your so called "source" the "Prussian" Sebastian Haffner was actually the JEW RAIMUND PRETZEL who fled to England in the Year 1938 and then worked under the pseudonym Sebastian Haffner for the BBC during the War. so do excuse me, that I realy dont give a sh*t what some immigrant JEW writes against Germany. Just as much as I dont give a damned what german traitors or lunatic Polaks think about our territorial history.
The laughable threats of the Superpower Poland warning us that we "shouldnt pretend that Prussians and Poles are Germans" and how we got beaten at "Tannenberg" should just remember that back then it was just a small Christian Order of the Teutonic Knights against the Polak-Lithauanian alliance. That is obviously the only "victory" Polaks are able to pin on their silly flags.
We know what is ours. We also know that today there are no more Germans living on OUR LAND. Not a single Polak has ever cultivated it and everything on that land was built by Germans.
We don't want polaks, so there is realy no danger of us claiming them to be "German". They will be kicked off our land in the same fashion as they did to us in 1945. And as far as the LOL "warlike free spirited white peoples of that zone" are concerned, they are the same worthless drunkards, car-thieves and cigarette-smugglers, loan-leeching parasites that they have been since 1945 and.... the begining of time. There isn't a nation on earth that couldn't kick their ass and they already boasted in 1939 that they will be marching into Berlin within 10 days and that our weapons and spirit were obsolete. We all know how that ended, don't we?
The only way the Polaks can keep their enternal enemy Germany down, is to pact with the Jews. They never had any problems with that and won't in the future either. Just like the JEWS they gained through the War and just as the JEWS they are largely responsible for it. Yes, I know - they like to whine and tell everyone how they have been victimized - but in the end, it won't help the JEWS and it won't help the Polaks.
Now back to the topic:
When I was refering to the blond Kindergarten, I was speaking of my visit in Quedlingburg and Meissen in the former "DDR"/GDR. Only a lunatic or a polak would claim that this region of Germany is populated by polaks. As a matter of fact, our dear ex-commie brethren of "East-Germany" (actually central Germany, the "East" is occupied by Polaks!) have a very healthy and sound viewpoint on polaks - they were forced to be friends with them during the communist aera.
While Dasyurus Maculatus can daydream about "Tannenberg" and imaginary future polak victories over Germany (that is if the Iraqis dont kill them all before we get our chance - haw! haw! haw!) I will be thinking of how our good ol Heinz Reinefarth razed Warsaw and how Adolf Hitler held his lil parade in their capitol after they got their arrogant ass handed to them after 18 days.
I will leave you with the very wise words of the french statesman Talleyrand about the Polaks: "They are an absolutely worthless nation and one can only create a chaos with them."

Hahaha!.The 'real' Dr Levi Brandt as seen on Nerdish Portal and Der Phora is now rearing his ugly head.
The anti-white message slagging off all white Europeans who do not fit Brandt's constipated view of what is a "German" , serves to portray Brandt as parody, a pantomime nazi in plastic jackboots.
Brandt your 'theories' are fraudulent and your 'knowledge' of Europeans affected by you spending too much time in the closet dressed up in the brown uniform which you have not earned, nor are you fit to wear: I suppose Momma Brandt knitted yours for you?. Quote "Haw haw haw" unquote.
Razing Warsaw was a task that was not successfuly achieved despite it being undertaken against an unarmed white population: even so the score in terms of dead german forces under Von Dem Bach-Zelewski and his foreman Reinfarth shows that by Christ, the Poles can fight:
16,000 killed and missing, 9,000 wounded, 2,000 captured in Warsaw with material losses including three airplanes, 310 tanks, self-propelled artillery, armored cars, 4 rocket launchers, 22 artillery pieces and 340 trucks and cars.
Jew-funded German invasions of what is now Poland in order to exterminate the population have a long and always unsuccessful history and, I quote: " their first Christianising mission in the 13th century involved the Prussians, a tribe which controlled the amber trade along the Baltic. The Teutonic knights dealt with them in a most effective way: they eliminated them almost completely. Those who remained alive were forbidden to marry so that no further Prussian children would be forthcoming." They failed.
The white Prussian people and language almost died out under Teutonic occupation - thanks to the jew-funded Teutonic Knghts infamous for kosher derived templar rituals and organised population elimination. The Prussian population almost died out - but that slaughter of white people ultimately failed.
As for trying to capture Moscow? the German army (who parody-nazi Brandt unsuccessfully pretends to be a member of) did not ever succeed in that task despite aircraft and Tank Divisions in the modern era; but as the facts of History recall, the Poles captured Moscow with only men on horses.
Polish cavalry and foot soldiers captured Moscow in 1610 - a feat of arms that was not managed a third of a millennium later despite having aircraft and Panzer Divisions and Prussian forces enlisted on the Germans side.
As for the first Battle of Tannenberg the white population of Lithuania/Lettland (no Germans) the white population of Prussia (no Germans) and the white population of Poland (no Germans) decisively slaughtered the Yid and templar sponsored invading Teutonic Armies of Von Jungingen at Tarnobrzeg /Tannenberg , leading to a peace treaty in 1411 .
The Jew-funded Templars and Knights under the Pope's poodle Ulrich Von Jungingen were decisively trounced by the Lettlander/Pole Wladislaw Jagiello (Brandt you would call him a POLAK? I believe  ) - and established the Poles and Prussians long-term dislike of both Jews and Germans that still exists to this day in the region and amongst all western Baltic peoples .
Brandt's rabid anti-white Nerdish Portal worldview conflicts with white European nationalist unity and progress.
Need I add - Brandts attempts to stir up hatred against Brits/ Lithuanians/ Estonians/ Finns/ Swedes/ Poles/ Prussians/ Norwegians /Danes and any and all other WHITE non-German peoples of northern Europe; will fail.
Brandt - do yourself a favour - stay in your closet as a dressed up Panzerdwarf as your jpeg shows> http://wehrmacht204.homestead.com/files/Dr.Brandt.jpeg

ROFL!
Only an idiot Polak would believe such myths. 16.000 killed in nearly 2 months, thats about 300 a day.
In 1939 we lost against Polaks around 11.000 Men - against their entire, mobelized army with howitzers, airforce, tanks and not to forget their CAVALRY!
1944 we alledgedly have losses of 16.000, against a horde of bandits with self manufactured weapons.
310 Tanks! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
A german Panzerdivision had aprox. 259 tanks and armoured vehicles. So in Warsaw 1944 we lost MORE than an entire tank division? Care to tell us which division that was?
Oh yes - I must not forget to praise their airforce, they claim to have shot down in 1939 more than 300 of our planes.
LOL - "polish history". Oh yes, they always win and manage to overkill the enemy but out of some strange reason we are the ones holding the victory-parades.
And now this: The teutonic Order was Jewish.
Need I add - Brandts attempts to stir up hatred against Brits/ Lithuanians/ Estonians/ Finns/ Swedes/ Poles/ Prussians/ Norwegians /Danes and any and all other WHITE non-German peoples of northern Europe; will fail.
Need I add, that this Polak is a raving lunatic? wWhere did I say a word against Danes, finns, Swedes, Norwegians, Lithauanians/Estonians - PRUSSIANS?
LOL - Prussians! Our Prussia! The land of Frederick the Great and Hindenburg! Just about everyone in Europe thinks Polaks are worthless scum. Nice try in trying to pull the other Europeans into your boat. Typical Polak - hiding behind a wall of lies and trying to get other Europeans aggrivated against Germany. Yeah, you always need someone else to fight your Wars for you - because you yourselfe are to pathetic and ignorant to even lead a herd of sheep onto a meadow.
Frederick the Great was right when he stated:
"The Poles are the most miserable nation that I know of. They thrive and live from the quarells between their neighbours".
"The prussian language NEARLY died out"
Ok Polak. Please show us some scriptures written in "Prussian".
Thats one reason I adore Russia! It kept the boot on that miserable, worthless horde of megalomanial savages for over 100 years. Not without reason did most of the european Jews settle in Poland. Kinsfolk is always drawn to each other.
Keep on dreaming of imaginary and future victorys. I can hardly await Iraqs victory-parade in Warsaw! hahaha! Everyone gets the chance to whoop them!

Deutsches Kolleg call Slavs 'Asiaticised Teutons,' in the typically wordy manner of the Germans. To Western Europeans and Americans, the Germans are far closer culturally and intellectually than East Europeans. The Slavs just don't have the same concept of race - take a look at Russia's so called 'Ultra-nationalist' groups - none of them to my knowledge affirm the importance of blood, which to the blood-feuders of Scandanavia, Britain and Appalachia is/was so familiar. It's funny how simple things we take for granted are so alien to our neighbours (in Eastern Europe). FFS, some of these countries weren't even industrialised until the twentieth century. I'm starting to think that clean, industrious non-white Japanese are closer to us than the Orthodox countries of the East. Perhaps I'm wrong.
It must piss the Germans off to see the cities they acculturated be claimed by default by less cultured foreigners (i.e., Prague, Riga, 'Kaliningrad', Breslau, Danzig.) Does anyone know what the NPD have to say about East Prussia?

And don't you ever call me an "American" again, you worthless polish turd!
These sneak attacks did little real damage, but they became very unpleasant because of their constant repetition. Many of the sick and wounded were taken and despoiled by these raiders, some of whom had acquired an immense amount of booty, and the greed for enrichment attracted new enemies, who came from the ranks of our allies: these were the Poles.
Marshal de Saxe, the son of one of their kings, said rightly that the Poles were the biggest thieves in the world, and would rob even their own parents, so, not surprisingly, those in our ranks showed little respect for the property of their allies. On the march or in bivouac, they stole anything they saw; but as no one trusted them, petty thieving became more difficult, so they decided to operate on a grand scale. They organised themselves into bands, and at night they would don peasant headgear and slip out of the bivouac to meet at an agreed spot, then they would return to the camp shouting the Cossack war-cry of "Hourra! Hourra!" which so frightened men whose morale had been broken, that many of them fled abandoning their possessions and food. The false Cossacks, after stealing all they could would return to the camp before daylight and become once more Poles, ready to become Cossacks again on the next night.
When this form of brigandage was disclosed, several generals and colonels decided to put a stop to it. General Maison kept such a close watch in the lines of 2nd Corps, that one fine night our guards surprised a group of about fifty Poles at the moment when they were about to play their role of Cossacks. Seeing that they were surrounded these bandits had the impudence to claim that they were just having a joke, but as this was not the time nor place for laughter, General Maison had them all shot out of hand. It was some time before we saw robbers of this kind again, but they reappeared later.
Memoirs of General Baron de Marbot , Vol. II, Chapter 20.
Polish Jews pray for pope
Poland's chief rabbi Friday praised Pope John Paul II for promoting reconciliation between Jews and Roman Catholics, and members of Warsaw's Jewish community gathered to pray for the pope's health. "We Jews feel a special attachment to Pope John Paul II because of everything he has done for us," Michael Schudrich, told The Associated Press before the service. "Through his teachings he created that space in the life of Poland today in which Polish Jews can try to live in Poland again." During the ceremony Schudrich recited psalms and traditional Hebrew prayers dedicated to the ill. "We are here today to pray for the health and well-being of Pope John Paul II because this is a person who dedicated his life to teaching all of us that we have a fundamental obligation to respect one another just because we are the children of God," Schudrich said. "Pope John Paul II has changed the soul and spirit of the church so much that we have no choice but to continue his work," Schudrich said. John Paul worked during his long papacy to reconcile Jews and Catholics by speaking out against anti-Semitism and increasing dialogue between the two faiths. (April 1, 2005)

"...Wealthy Poles are invading the border regions of Germany and snapping up properties at rock bottom prices in what estate agents call a dramatic reversal of historical roles...The widespread expectation that after Poland joined the European Union its cheap homes would be bought up by Germans has been turned on its head as the Poles search for "lebensraum" in the west...They are attracted by average prices of around £12,000 for a family home in good repair. A run-down cottage can be bought for as little as £200 and a "chic manor house with indoor pool" comes at £220,000..."

Yep! This is not mentioned at all in our media or the press. It is a silent invasion. At the same time it is of course outlawed in Poland, to sell ground and property to Germans. (For those Germans that are dumb enough willing to buy back what was once stolen from them!)
I knew this allready last year, before these articles were published from a comrade in Nürnberg. He regularly visits auctions to see how the realestate prices are developing. He called me last febuary and said to me "you wont believe whats going on...". He said the auction-houses are full of Polaks. They are swarming the east like locusts and buying everything up - WITH THE SUPPORT OF "OUR" GOVERMENT!!!!
Now that they are in the EU, they can even settle these lands. It will be an infilitration like that of Silesia, Posen and Westprussia in the 19th century.
Like the Albanians did in Kosovo. And one day they will say "This is polish land" and will demand a revision of the borders.
They are out to totaly destroy Germany and make their old imperialist dreams of reaching the north-sea come true.
Bismarck already predicted something like this in the 1860ys if a polish state were to be created.

Poles who can buy houses and who are working may help dilute the predominantly Black nationalities swamping Germany. The Poles with their delightful blonde haired well behaved European Christian kids will help bring white Aryan stock to the Negrified Islamic Germany of 2005:-
Asian Turkish Muslims now number some 2.1 million of the population of Germany If the estimated 450,000 to 500,000 German nationals of Turkish descent are included, the number is larger .
Germany has about 180,000 ethnic Albanians from Kosovo, including almost 15,000 who arrived since March 1999. Most of the Kosovars are housed in government-operated camps that cost the government about $500 per month a person. In addition, Kosovars receive $170 a month for food and $50 in cash. School attendance is compulsory. Beginning in early July 1999, Kosovars are being offered DM450 plus a free flight home if they want to return to Albania.
Instead of worrying about Poles, I'd say that Germany ought to be worried by Asian and Africans who live in Germany: 84,000 black african muslims from Morocco, another 25,500 from Tunisia, 22,000 Nog coloured Soot black Negroes from Ghana, 19,600 olive dagoes from Brazil, 66,500 Taleban from Afghanistan, 36,700 Chinks from China (where else?), 36,000 Jinglies from India, 114,000 Persians from Iran, 56,000 Arabs from Lebanon, 38,000 Pakis, 60,000 Ceylonese Indians from Sri Lanaka.
And while some bitch about Poles around 283,000 of whom live in post-war Germany; their delightful blonde haired well behaved European Christian kids will help bring white Aryan stock to the 281,400 people from Bosnia and Herzegovina who live in Germany, the 206,600 from Croatia. and the roughly 608,000 Italians, 363,000 Greeks, 185,000 Austrians, 132,000 Spaniards, 132,000 Portuguese, 115,000 British, 113,000 Dutch, 104,000 French , 95,000 Romanians, 50,500 from the former Soviet Union, 52,000 from Hungary, and 110,000 citizens of the United States (including a VNN'er) also live in Germany.
No wonder blonde haired kids and clean white communities are found mainly in east Germany and still socially homogenous Poland - its all credit due to the Poles.

I don't think the Germans want Poles in their country much more than they do other groups. Certainly, I'm not chuffed about Yugoslavs in the UK; they fucked up their own country, and they should suffer for it. There are no Russian refugees in the UK and there never have been (except Peter Ustinov), despite the many depredations visited upon that country in the last 100 years (Revolution of 1905). The Hockenos book mentions the fact that Polish nationalists regularly attack and break up the meetings of the German minority in Poland.
Naturally, the Poles are a decent white stock (and blondness is common in the Baltic rim, regardless of nationality), who can be assimilated so long as they don't become a hyphenated community braying for privileges (they haven't in Britain, though a lot of EU migrants are already arrogantly suggesting that without them we'd be fucked, and that we should not complain about their numbers - fuck them).
East Germany is massively Protestant (Poles are fanatical Catholics) and racially homogenous (cos of Communism). It took only a couple of hundred foreigners in a city of 70,000 to kick off the Hoyerswerda riots.

East Germany is massively Protestant (Poles are fanatical Catholics) and racially homogenous (cos of Communism). It took only a couple of hundred foreigners in a city of 70,000 to kick off the Hoyerswerda riots.
It has less to do with Religion. In 1939 they murderd the catholic german clergy just as much as the protestants. they are simply megalomanial chauvenists.Until March 1939 they were considered the bad boy of Europe even in England, because of their progroms against the Ukranians. Why do you think white Russians and Ukranians took such an active role in fighting the Poles during WW2? Because they had felt their whipp for 20 years and wanted to pay them back.

Try reading this thread from the beginning, asshole -- you'll see that I have indeed... :D
But your attempt to ‘Hoax This’ thread, is grossly hampered:
Grossly hampered that is, by your displayed low levels or articulacy, use of Talmudic invective, and ill humour – all standard indicators of acute ethnic subnormalcy .
Those indicators give the firm impression that you can rarely, if ever, have properly read a single book - let alone the grand total of five. Five, FFS!.
Does your understanding of white world history and politics come from reading Marvel Comics and the 1939 blitzkrieg edition of the Donald Duck Annual?.
I think you are cheating on this thread ;
Perhaps you may have cursorily read the front cover page title of the occasional adult level book?, but as for understanding what the big words mean or entering the deep and challenging world of the textual content beyond the Preface; - you would surely be as stumped as the proverbial blind jew on a bacon stall bicycle .
As for understanding any substantive content and implications therein, posessing any rudimentary ability to challenge the dogma of fake-Germans, to analyse conjecture or present a sober or persuasive refutation : I think any reasonable white observer may be assured that you do not possess any ability to do so.
Hoax that.

Unreal. This has got to be -- without a doubt -- the most pompous, ridiculous, embarrassing example of "pseudo-analysis" I've yet seen posted on a message board. Sorry, Sweetpea, but an attempt to impress readers with your dazzling display of diction does not conceal the fact that you slipped and made a "boo-boo."
The upshot? You got caught fucking-up and you're embarrassed (deservedly so), so you try to save what's left of your dignity by posting a lame, half-baked attempt at scholarly analysis. It's a pathetic effort intended to impress readers on this board with your intellect. I believe most people here would agree with my analysis after reading your post. Anyway...
we'll be talking again real soon, asshole -- you've just made a new friend. ;)

Yep! This is not mentioned at all in our media or the press. It is a silent invasion. At the same time it is of course outlawed in Poland, to sell ground and property to Germans....He said the auction-houses are full of Polaks. They are swarming the east like locusts and buying everything up - WITH THE SUPPORT OF "OUR" GOVERMENT!!!!
Now that they are in the EU, they can even settle these lands. ...Polaks and Jews are Germanys death.
The Poles seem to have a short memory as to how the Germans are in the habit of dealing with annoying neighbors. Not to mention the memory of other invaders and offspring of survivors of former attempts at racially cleaning them.
They don’t seem to realize that 1 of their neighbors has the world’s 2nd largest gross national product and the other an overwhelming superpower.
Now that they are a minor EU member, they think they’re going to call the shots here
Poles who can buy houses and who are working may help dilute the predominantly Black nationalities swamping Germany. [B]The Poles with their delightful blonde haired well behaved European Christian kids will help bring white Aryan stock to the Negrified Islamic Germany of 2005
Not all of them wear blue eyes and blonde hair. Some have Asian blood injected into their female ancestors and probably there were attempts at injecting the male ones in like manner. Just because someone has blue eyes and blonde hair doesn’t necessarily awake racial conscience in them. Blonde-blue Poles consider themselves Polish nationals 1st and not necessarily Aryans. I’d be one of the last to lose sleep, if Hitler’s dream, of populating everywhere above the Alps with blue eyed blondes, came true. But only conditionally.
New EU legislation has allowed Polish contractors to exercise building trades as phony companies using phony adresses, through a legal loophole. Poles aren’t yet allowed to practice trades on the national employment market as employees of German companies, thus they obtain a front man who registers a company in Germany, then employs Polish workers, which is legal. He isn’t required to bear a journeyman’s licence. But, a German contractor is. This not only undermines wages, but also undermines a certain hallmark of quality.
The cost of living, in Poland, is still considerably lower, compared to that of Western Europe’s, so that Germans cannot afford living on wages Poles accept. German contractors cannot compete against a Polish contractor, because worker deductions for income tax, health insurance, church tax, unemployment tax and solidarity with the former East Germany tax are higher than in Poland. Furthermore, Poland doesn’t levy 3 of those aforementioned taxes.
Poles have always sought advantages and the present German government seems to do all it can to accommodate abuse from its immediate neighbor to the east, as well as to accommodate those who will substitute German ethnicity in Germany with non-European races, if unchecked.
I don’t particularly like the Germans, although I value the preservation of German society as important for their role in Europe, once they become free to live in an orderly society again

It was a fast and pleasant read, if you like stories of motorcycles, sex, violence, and drug abuse. LOL
There were a couple implausibles, but I wont bore you folks with them unless you've read the book. Ok, just one. Namely, why would anybody show up for a gunfight with lead pipes and instead of guns?
Out of curiousity have any of you heard of Sonny Barger? I read a book by Hunter Thompson that was all about his motorcycle club. Has anybody read that book either?

Well, that's certainly not the only reason. Aside from Hunter Thompson, Sir Graves Ghastly and Captain Beefheart took turns at working my mind over good. Big Time Wrestling finished it off.
I think I was either in the 5th or 6th grade. Nevertheless, the book was short enough and in rather elementary English where I hadn't any reason to suffer futility in reading it. I hated book reports and have gotten through shmuel without ever having to do a written one.

Hey guys can I join in this bun-fight?.Dear Grott, have you genuinely not heard of Poles winning any battles in the last 1,000 years ? . Maybe the next five books you read ought to include some rudimentary European Military History?
Regarding Polish battle victories why not start by pointing out that the Poles defeated the Russians and captured Moscow. .(Don't ever recall a certain other army having done that?).
But with Gott being so well-read he will already know the details of the Polish Muscovite War of 1610-18? comprised of a series of Polish battle victories with the Poles capturing Moscow.
The Poles aided by Lithuanians and Prussians decisevly defeated the Teutons (The 'Knights of the Cross' and 'Knights of the Sword' .
The Poles won the 1st Battle of Tannenberg.
The Poles defeated the Tartars .
The Poles defeated the Red Cossacks (Polish 44th Kresy Rifles Regiment, 16th Uhlans Regiment, elements of 1st Uhlans Regiment and the 7th Group of Mounted Artillery in the 1920's suite of Polish battle victories over the Commy/Bolsheviks).
The Poles defeated the Swedish Armies.
The Poles defeated the Cossacks (Battles of the Cossack-Polish War 1648–57).
The Poles captured Kiev in 1920 (May 7th today is the 85th anniversary of that Polish Victory)
The Poles whupped real-Germans at Mount Ormel, the Falaise Gap and Monte Cassino in ww2.
The Poles also won the final and so-called Fourth Battle of Monte Cassino by its 2nd Polish Corps under General Wladyslaw Anders. The first assault caused heavy losses and also allowed the British 8th Army under General Sir Oliver Leese to break through German lines in the Liri river valley below .
The Poles helped the Brits win the so-called 'Battle of Britain'
http://www.members.tripod.com/~marcin_w/index-paces.html
The Poles won the battle of Wolodarka (Thats in a place called Europe. Ever heard of it?. Europe that is :D ), against Red Army forces in 1920.
But lend me your eyes and ears there are many more!. A couple of interest:-
When the Mongols invaded Europe, the Teuton Henry of Liegnitz screwed up big time in trying to defeat the invading hordes. The Mongol practice to count the vanquished dead in battle was to cut off an ear cut from each dead European.
"The Tartars filled nine sacks with ears." The Germanic tribe the Teutons succeeded in contributing their ears to the Mongol invaders in 1241 but with the Poles it was different.
In 1241 the huge Mongol army launched an invasion into Europe and whilst the the main force headed for a showdown in Hungary a smaller army was sent into Poland as a diversion. A large Polish and Germany army, led by Henry which marched off to link up with King Wenceslas of Bohemia's Army. The Mongols confronted them as they passed the town of Liegnitz. Although outnumbered, the Mongols fought brilliantly and inflicted a devastating defeat on Henry of Leignitz's forces.
Boleslaw and Mieszko (Both sound Polak to me?) were brought in, defeated the Mongol armies left wing, and the Poles decided to shift their reserves for a decisive blow on the Mongol right wing. The maneouvre was accomplished and a devastating charge of Polish knights backed by heavy infantry slazchta'd (cleaved) the panic stricken Mongols.
The Poles had an amazing victory over the Asian army of the Great Khan. The battle was deemed a Polish victory
Poles battling to stop the invasions from the east were successful as recently as the "Tartar Invasion" of 1667-1676, when an outnumbered Polish force slaughtered an eastern invading army several times larger):-
In August 1667, when Mongol/ Tartar/ Cossacks led an invasion into Poland with close to 30,000 troops it was a Polak ( Jan Sobieski) who led an army of 8,000 Polish troops to engage the invaders of Europe. The Poles won.
Some guys on this forum ought to shed the 'anti-Polak' stance - VNN deserves better. Most certainly the white Race deserves better:
Gott - why not save your shit flinging for the Jews and Pakis?.

Napoleon. Defeated the Russians at Borodino and captured Moscow soon after.
Liegnitz - half the troops (at least) were Polish, the other half Germans.
The Russians crushed the Tartars once and for all, and expanded onto the steppes of Central Asia.
In 1472, Akhmat Khan (gook-Mongol) entered into alliance with the Polish king Casimir IV against Ivan III (of Russia).

I've looked through The Mediterranean, but had picked it up at a bad time, and shortly put it down. Memory and The Mediterranean proved more my taste.
Croce has always revolted me—and that only by seeing quotes from his work in various places.
What charms me about Braudel is that he is at the beginning of anti-historiography, a "grandfather" type with one foot in the water, smoothing the way for greater ungodliness; the struggle between Frenchman and Redman, played out in the mind and prose of a great scholar, is amusing to follow, whereas its modern development is of course just painful.

Funny (sort of) the way most everything seems to be at the end. What modern development in historiography? I don’t know of any contemporary history worth the name, except for Irving, and he has a novelistic and pulp side that makes me a bit uneasy. As for positive developments in modern serious music, painting, even filmmaking, or what is grotesquely referred to these days as ‘literature’ - no one (except a jew) could seriously argue such an absurd position.
This is a world in which a member of the legal racket sits in judgment on the writing of history and condemns Irving because he expresses a point of view through his work. I guess this jerk never read Gibbon, who most definitely expresses quite the point of view in his great history of Rome. Objectivity is the measure of all ‘real’ history then? I can’t think of any objective history books, or any other creative products of the mind that are objective unless they were produced by lobotomized persons or a computer program (and people with points of view design the programs). Beneath contempt is one thing…but how do they manage to go lower than…beneath contempt? Nice trick.
It is kind of depressing to be at the end of culture and civilization rather than at the beginning or somewhere in the middle.
I find it curious that you dislike Croce so much. His history of the Two Sicilies is really interesting (I’m part Italian and love Italian history and perhaps that’s one reason I like this particular book so much). Now that I'm awakened, so to speak, I can see how extreme and unfair (that point of view thing again) are his positions in general and particularly those that knock the overthrown Bourbon rulers of that kingdom. But still, it's a very interesting story and Croce’s prose is neither dull nor clichéd. I haven't read it in years though, and perhaps it would piss me off today. At least it is quite short, completely unlike most of Braudel's books.

I myself am part south-Italian, as was Croce, yet curiously I've always felt a distaste for the south-Italian historians: Vico, de Sanctis, Croce, etc. Vico in particular bothers me and has been fatal to the world in that he gave it the noxious, if to an extent credible, "cyclical" doctrine. I have always wondered where Spengler would have ended if not for Vico. Completely bypassing the doctrine itself, it has merely given certain modern men an excuse not to take action, while they wait in their bogs and croak about a new Golden Age.
De Sanctis bothered me with his Hegelianism; it is like reading early Deleuze, where everything boils down to Nietzsche.
I can't even remember why Croce bothered me, but it was enough to turn me off. Perhaps it was mostly the specter of an over-learned, verbose Italian academic, with all kinds of theories and neologisms that I just didn't want to deal with at the moment. At bottom, I can't stand so much theorizing.

Possibly an elementary book for Gott and THamilton, but what do you two think of The Leopard by di Lampedusa?
Another case in point, which I thought of earlier after writing my last post. I confess I could only get to the tenth page of the book, not because di Lampedusa was a bad writer - quite the opposite - or a lack of interest in the subject - again, the opposite - but simply because, as with every other time I have tried to get down to reading these southerners, I was quickly oppressed by the atmosphere of melancholy and matter-of-fact dryness in his writing and the plot. As a son of the land and a grandson of the era described, his style, and the plot itself, reminded me too much of the barren Sicilian landscape to go on with it. The whole novel is about a man ignoring the end of his era; I couldn't put this in the back of my mind and enjoy the prose and development. I'm a very fastidious reader—if something essential like that is antipathetic, I won't be able to ignore it for the sake of just reading.
If I had to pinpoint this, it could be that what repels me is the total lack of passion in these writers. In The Leopard one has ‘sensuousness’—the flaccid, routine negative of passion. In the writings of Mazzini one finds a humanistic mock-passion which is even more insufferable. This all points up to a more fundamental objection, covering Italian culture as a whole: they lack real extremes—passion only about some holy abstraction like freedom or unity, hatred only among Communists, ecstasy only for women and that only centuries ago,....cosmic vision only in the paint-by-number form of a schoolmarm. In short: Italians are all too worldly and have expressed it in every possible medium, leading the tasteless degenerates of today to esteem them higher than they are truly worth.
I mentioned having read the poems of a Cecco Angiolieri, below. I value him above all for his ability to speak like a madman, a rare quality among Italians. Example:
If I were fire, I would burn the world;
if I were wind, I would bestorm it;
if I were water, I would drown it;
if I were God, I would hurl it into the deep;
If I were Pope, I would be happy,
as I would harry all Christians;
if I were emperor, do you know what I would do?
I would chop off the heads of the lot of them.
If I were death, I would go to my father;
if I were life, I would run from him,
and I would do the same for my mother.
If I were Cecco, as I am and have been,
I would take for myself all the young and pretty women,
and leave the lame and ugly for others.
This was written in the 13th century.
Only on very rare occasions have Italians gotten to extremes, independent of worldiness—first of all in San' Franceso; the old Sicilian school of poetry, feeding directly into Alighieri; in some later poets such as Angiolieri; in modern times Papini, Soffici, and at least on the rhetorical side the Futurists proper. D'Annunzio and Mussolini were both actors. A political expression of the spirit of Angiolieri's grim poem, at bottom a joyous blood-thirsty anarchy, may be d'Annunzio's capture of Fiume and the playground the Arditi made of it. I would say the Arditi were the only genuine aspect of Fascism. Who knows? Probably in both Angiolieri and the Arditi, Germanic blood was dominant.
Papini is a most interesting author whom you would all enjoy, I think. He was quite Jew-savvy toward the end of his life and once wrote an essay on the difficulties of classroom education with children of different races. I will post a short piece of his on Jewry, soon enough.

I'm not sure if D'Annunzio was a tragic figure with something I would liken to an Achilles like ennui, or a poseur? He had the battle scars to show he walked the walk, but I can see why you would call him an actor. I was never too crazy about Mussolini.
I don't know. A WN I knew remarked, to my sincere assent, that d'Annunzio is the sort of author one feels should be read and esteemed, but really isn't a big deal, for all the self-hooplah.
You seem to have a Byronic world weariness hampering your enjoyment of books.

I just saw this post, and the following ones as well. If it's not too late, I'd like to comment on the Lampedusa book. I've read it a couple of times, mostly because of its reputation but even more because it is the basis for Luchino Visconti's (gay, uber-aristocrat, communist) greatest film (and I would say greatest of all Italian films - Il Gattopardo/The Leopard).
Indeed I agree that the novel is on the dry, sardonic side, but that's no problem for me. It is also quite short, another plus as I generally see things. The tone is leftist and the Prince of Salina is dissected as a sort of outstanding example of his dying class and all the tragic mistakes they made/make that lead to their own extinction, the continuing brutalization of the proletariat and the rise of the nauseating money class (actually...I agree with a lot of this....).
Unlike the movie, the novel skips over a gigantic time gap near the very end of the story as, after the death of the Prince, the author flashes forward to briefly note the last days of his now impoverished religion obsessed/superstitious spinster daughters who spend what little money they still have buying bogus, moldy relics with which to adorn Palermetan (sp?) churches.
The movie is considerably warmer than the book and in addition to dropping the flash forward, much humanizes the principle characters. While sticking fairly close to the novel and quite true to its leftist agenda, the movie more than the book rises above the stereotypes because of the rich ambiguity Visconti lavishes upon his characters. The middle class money guy is gross but amusing; his ambitious and straightforwardly earthy daughter Angelica is also quite sharp (and gorgeous in the person of Claudia Cardinale); the Prince's eldest daughter is truly admirable and the Prince himself is a towering intellect and personality (Burt Lancaster's greatest-by-far performance). Only Tancredi (Alain Delon), the nephew of the Prince, is fairly one-dimensional and that is so Visconti, following Lampedusa (but more pointedly in the movie), can more strongly condemn him. He is the only 'bad' character in the film, as he has no honor or integrity.
Part of the agenda, in the movie anyway (obviously I know the film way better than the novel), is to show how sad it is that because of class issues a great man like the Prince of Salina cannot see that rather than his disgusting nephew, the person most worthy of his friendship is actually his working class hunting minion. Also, in both the book and the movie, though the Prince is a giant among the other characters on every level, he cannot see that by tying his house to the rising middle/slob/money class he is throwing in his lot with everything that is vile, ugly and gross in humanity and even insuring the extinction of everything of real value (again, odd that I find myself in total agreement with this!).
What makes it so interesting is that even though the Cardinale character's father is pretty disgusting, she is not. And, she is not admirable because she is some movie cliché of the sweet and the pure - quite the contrary. She has street smarts, is very sensual (but agrees it is best to observe the proprieties and wait till after marriage to Tancredi) and can even enjoy a bit of cruelty. Cardinale's great performance certainly helps to bring this basically sensible and realistic girl to vivid life - she and Lancaster share equal honors in terms of what they do with what they are given. They are also given a lot more to work with than are any of the other actors.
One great advantage (depending on how you feel about this issue) that the movie has over the novel is that you see it all. If you have a good imagination, perhaps it's better to read it. But, I really think that of all the films I have seen, Il Gattopardo is the closest to a time machine. It is all so based on reality (the costumes, for instance, are copies of actual dresses worn then rather than reworkings based on 1963 tastes), the art direction is so stupendous and Visconti's genius is so white-hot on this movie (and also on Senso, his other film set during the wars of Italian unification) that the results are often gasp inducing. The last 45 minutes of the film are set at a gala ball given by one of the great Palermo houses to celebrate a conservative military victory by the newly arrived Pietmontese conquerors over some republican rebels, and it is sometimes hard to believe that you are actually seeing what you are seeing. The extras, the blazing candles, the super luxurious decor.... the deepest of deep focus photography that shows you ever detail no matter how far away - it seems like there could not be enough money in the world to actually recreate the world of 1859 on such a scale. And, it rings so true and so un-movie-like in looks that for me the only explanation that works is I'm looking at the product of a real time machine. That, of course, makes for the best manipulation and as a final example of the leftist agenda that underlies it all - when the ball breaks up at dawn, the Italian officers leave en mass (the heel clicking on their arrival and exit is most entertainingly thunderous) in order to execute captured rebels (who had fought with Garibaldi no less) who were trying to initiate a genuine revolution rather than the middle/slob class coup that both book and film imply actually won its way to power in the unification of Italy (again, I agree). In actual fact, the rebels defeated at the battle of Aspromonte were all pardoned by the House of Savoy. But that would spoil the point, so they get shot in the movie instead (tastefully off screen).
If you see the movie, see it in the restored Italian version. The American release is garbage with one good point - Lancaster speaks for himself. The Italian version is in the best color process, it has most of the cuts opened up and the Italian and French actors are much, much better when they speak for themselves in Italian. But Lancaster is dubbed. Still, only see the Italian version if you are interested in the movie.
This doesn’t directly reply to your post, but I had my chance to go with the Visconti film and I wasn’t gonna miss it.

Just finished The Gallic War by Julius Caesar. Good fucking god, what a mess. Talk about a real holocaust. At least the Gauls went out with honor, death before surrender, but that was a gruesome description of total war. I've read elsewhere at least a few million perished, but not all of Rome's doing.
It was amusing to read Caesar's excuses for not being able to penetrate further in Britain and Germany, a very arrogant and egotistical yet brilliant man.

Here's what I'm planning to read soon:
1-- something about a thing called "Sex Transmutation." Has something to do with the Tao, and learning to not shoot yer load or something. Vital energies and all that, Mandrake.
2-- the Tom Woods book about Catholics being responsible for everything good or whatever. Alex made fun of this book so I bought it. I'm going to read it, or at least try to, it already looks a little boring, and maybe pass it around.
3-- Gods and Legions, s'posed to be about Julian the apostate. Who to me is a very interesting figure. Plus I like books about Romans killing large numbers of barbarians, always fun stuff. Good bedtime reading.
4-- Book by Michael o Meara "New Culture, New Right" about Debenoist and all the rest. Looks interesting.

No, I hadnt even heard of him until a few months ago when one of my Roman Catholic Jew-crit buddies showed me an article about how him and the Jews tried to get together and rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Point of the article was Jews like to shine up to the government to stab Catholics in the back. You know the story. Anyhow, about Julians would-be attempt at reprising Cyrus the Great: guess what happened? Big earthquake destroyed it. They all took that as a sign and gave up the project. Or so the story goes.

A pretty good review of the link between National Socialism and ecology.
Dry and Brown Greens
Ecofascism: Lessons from the German Experience by Janet Biehl and Peter Staudenmaier. AK Press, 22 Luton Place, Edinburgh Scotland pp 73 ISBN 1-873176-73-2
I FIRST HEARD of the imminent release of this small but overpriced volume from an employee of the AK Press whom I met at a large book trade convention in America. Not knowing the exact slant of the book I politely asked if he were familiar with Anna Bramwell's Blood and Soil: Walther Darri and Hitler's Green Party (reviewed in Scorpion 11) which is certainly relevant to the topic. "She's a Fascist," he exclaimed indignantly, as if this, in and of itself, meant that her book was irrelevant and unworthy of the slightest consideration. I countered that her thesis (Claiming the still unsurpassed progressive agricultural and ecological policies advanced by Darri and others during the Third Reich were a logical and inevitable result of long-standing V”lkisch trends) were soundly rooted in historical fact, but the fellow I was speaking to merely repeated his mantra "she's a fascist", by which time he obviously considered me quite suspicious. However, when I mentioned that I had quite a number of original books published by Darri's office in the thirties he suddenly became much more friendly and suggested that I lend AK Press some material as they still had no artwork for the book jacket!
A double-standard was clearly at work, a typically confused one, which is on par for the course with a publisher like AK Press. While they generally maintain a strict, doctrinaire agenda of anarcho-socialist publications, there is one very odd item on their roster: a book-length compendium of the first three issues of the controversial Answer Me! magazine. This hefty and venomously misanthropic volume, which has been labelled a "Bible of Hate", certainly appears at odds with the rest of the AK canon. Why would they support such a work, let alone involve themselves in distributing it? Quite simply, because they knew it guaranteed them sales upwards of 10,000 copies, in all likelihood five times that of their average title. So much for idealism.
What does all this have to do with Ecofascism? The same shaky logic and wishy-washy tactics permeate this volume. Arguably the most compelling feature of this slim book is the red/white/black design of the cover and evocative Fidus image that adorns it. Certainly the illustration conveys considerably more emotion and substance than do the dry and contradictory words contained within.
Comprised of two essays, the first half of the book, by Staudenmaier, about the "Green Wing" of the Nazi Party and its historical antecedents, is heavily indebted to Mrs Bramwell's research and is basically a synopsis of her two major books, Blood and Soil and Ecology in the Twentieth Century: a History. While pillaging from her work, Staudenmaier arrogantly dismisses Mrs Bramwell as having succumbed to "an alarming intellectual affinity with <her> subject" in his second footnote and does not mention her name again. But he reiterates her contention that the modern ecological movement owes the greater part of its foundation to thinkers of an illiberal, if not racialist, outlook: witness Ernst H‘ckel, who coined the word "ecology" in its original German form and was a strong proponent of "Monist" eugenics, nationalism and anti-Semitism. Still, Staudenmaier tries to make a garbled argument for rescuing the green movement from such tendencies, assuming the high moral ground and invoking the benevolent "emancipatory" nature of his own personal vehicle, the "social ecology" viewpoint. He castigates the Green slogan, "We are neither right nor left but up front" as "historically naive and politically fatal", offering no reason for doing so beyond his equation of fascism=evil.
What clearly frightens the "social ecologists" is not so much the racialism of some environmentalists but rather a general growing attitude among those concerned with the future of the earth (and part of the philosophy of Deep Ecology), that human life is not inherently sacred and deserves no more and no less than a balanced position within the vast spectrum of our planet's now vulnerable organic eco-systems.
The second half of the book, by the co-editor of Green Perspectives, Janet Biehl, presents a muddled continuation of Staudenmaier's text, updating it to the present day and informing us that no, the Nazis and fascists still have not surrendered the ecology movement to the humanitarians. The original danger of their involvement therefore still looms and unless environmentalism is saved from the pernicious influence of would-be barbarians, the world may once again lapse into a totalitarian nightmare. Mrs. Biehl bemoans the insidious efforts of the "New Right", which "explicitly draws its ideas from classical fascism". So both authors are mortified at the alleged highjacking of ecology by the "fascist right" as a means to gain recruits, influence and support. The only problem with this position is that both Staudenmeier and Mrs. Biehl have admitted that the modern ecology movement was, at root, founded by the ancestors of the "fascists" they despise. The question any rational person will then ask is: how can fascists highjack what they themselves started ?
Anyone concerned with the links between fascism and ecology would do better to read Mrs. Bramwell's two books or any of the writings by Earth First founders Edward Abbey and David Foreman, than to bother with Ecofascism whose authors seem not to care about ecology at all. For them, the earth and its vast abundance of unique life forms, are merely commodities to entertain or provide employment for a multitude of swarming humanoids who contribute nothing of value but are somehow "sacred" all the same. It all smacks of the Christian idea: "I am not of the earth, merely on it", according to which the earth is only some kind of amusement park or testing ground, where every human, but not animal, can be expected to be treated decently. Happily, the earth could not care less for the hand-wringing philosophies of such humanists as Biehl and Staudenmeier, although if their anthropocentric ideas continue unabated, they and their ilk may take credit for its eventual downfall.

I read "Junky" by William Burroughs. First thing I read by him, just happened across the book at a big sale the med school students here were having. Book is dated, but Burroughs doesn't write in the style I expected, rather smoother and more pleasant, although the subject matter is not very interesting. Drugs and their use and the people who use them and the things they do - boring. Still, it's a reasonably interesting look into various subcultures back in the middle decades of the 20th century. Pretty much completely irrelevant today because the "correlation of forces" he describes no longer exists - it's all cops and niggers or cops and mexican invaders these days. Burroughs had a guaranteed income, an early sort of semi-trust fund kid, from St. Louis, so he was able to wastrel about without worrying about things too much.
I'm also reading some books on plumbing and electricity. And I've got Clinton's book, which I'm going glean for interesting statements.

I read four or five Burroughs books (why? I don't know why I kept reading them) and "Junky" was the only one that made any sense. I heard "Queer" is reasonably coherent too, but I've been burned by reading his nonsense too many times to give him another chance.

It is clear that you have an agenda regarding Intrepid. You should take note that A.Linder and others have contributed much to this thread and it has been civil until you showed up to take a swipe at Intrepid. I am sure that everyone here is quite aware that there is a war, a genocidal war against the white man from every direction but what does that have to do with exchanging ideas about what is good reading or not? BTW, it's browsing. I am not sure how wise it is to admit that one is stimulated by watching animals copulate but each to his own.

I read three short classical historical books: Germania and Agricola (also known as Britannica) by Tacitus, and The Iugurthine War by Sallustius. I think all of them are online somewhere. All of them I recommend.
The Iugurthine War by Sallustius is a good read about the Roman version of the war in Iraq. The Romans win their war against Numidia and its king Iugurtha after five years by making a deal with Iraq, Numidia's neighbouring nation Mauretania. It's interesting how during the war the Romans win all the battles, yet still can't win.
Good Douglas Herman column about how the kikes censor books. Douglas Herman is the guy that keeps a writer like Bob Wallace online when Lew Rockwitz fires him for mildly criticizing juwes.

"...In the town of Skuon around 55 miles North of Phnom Phen tarantula spiders are very commonly eaten by the locals, travelers who pass through often try them too. The practice began in the days of the Khmer Rouge, when food was scarce, but apparently the locals developed rather a taste for the furry 8-legged arachnids and now they still form a major part of the towns dietary intake. Hundreds of these spiders are hunted, cooked and sold everyday in what must be one of the more unusual 'fast food' arrangements I've seen..."

On my way back from Texas, looking to distribute some TAAs around Joplin, Missouri, I came across this place called The Book Barn. I got a copy of the first volume of Irving's Hitler's War, for $2, and a copy of Otto Frierich's Before the Deluge: A portrait of Berlin in the 1920s. I have a feeling I've read of this book before and forgotten. Anyone familiar with it? It's probably a kike writing about kikes, but still might be some points I can use in it.
BTW, it's kind of fun to take a few hundred TAAs and get off the state road or interstate in some town you've never really seen and drive around looking for good places to put them out.
Anyway, The Book Barn has surprisingly low prices, although not a great selection. The shop has a bunch of alternative kids in it, and all kinds of baseball and other cards, and CDs.

I've read his seminal work, Hitler. That was years ago, however. If you want a good biography on Speer, pickup Matthias Schmidt's Albert Speer: The end of a myth. I read it in college, when it came out, and it completely altered my opinion on Speer. David Irving did the original introduction for the first edition ( I don't know if this is the case in subsequent ones, though.), which led me to Irving's other works immediately thereafter.

Just so everyone understands... van Creveld is a Jew. BUT I think his scholarship and insights are sound. Futhermore he said America would fail in Iraq and he gave the reasons for the failure. I have never detected Jewish propaganda in his writings, and I do recommend them.
Here is a bone chilling quote from him:
Interview with Dutch-Israeli military historian Martin van Creveld, January 30, 2003:
“We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force. . . . Our armed forces . . . are not the thirtieth strongest in the world, but rather the second or third. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen, before Israel goes under.”

To be honest, it was probably one of the worst Jew propaganda efforts I've ever read. The fuckin' thing is dedicated to Communists. It's on par with Cornwell's hatchet job on Pius XII. I only stomached it because the subject matter is rather rare in English. The book's only merit was knowing the Ukies got some form of revenge, albeit for a short time, on their former tormentors.

Excellent book. If written today, it would be considered "revisionist." It was written & researched in the '60s, obviously, under Franco's regime. Clear, concise, scholarly account of the events.

archeofuturism
June 5th, 2006, 02:08 PM
Right now I'am working through about a dozen books or so, since school is out I can now spend all of my free time reading philosophical/historical books. Here are some of the books I'am plodding through right now:
-'L'Archeofuturisme' by Guillaume Faye- For all of you don't know Guillaume Faye is you should look him up he's by far the most important philosophical nationalist (as in Magna Europa not anachronistic Nation-states) speaking for our cause today. He's also hosting as conference on the future on the White World next week in Moscow, Russia. This book is online for free on Novuelle Droit Website but must translated to be read in english. He's the heir to people like Evola, Yockey, Spengler and RPO. BTW, this book is a brillant synthesis of ideas combinding evolian integral traditionalism with futuristic Technoscience all the while philosophizing with hammer calling for a European-Siberia Empire.
-'La Colonisation de L'Europe' By Guillaume Faye
-'New Right, New Culture' by Michael O'Meara- This probably the best book I've read in the past few years. If I were to give one book to someone to for an introduction to learn about our intellectual and philosophical foundations this would be it. It comprehensively details all of the major themes, elements and philosophers that seek restore Europe's high culture and racial identity( although Benoist turned out to be a traitor, Faye still defends our biocultural identity).Sam Francis wrote a great review of it in TOQ, BTW don't miss O'Meara's articles in TOQ. He made me believe that american racialism needs to address more deeper issues and become more intellectually rigorous, these are points expounded upon in my post in the civil forum.
-'Postwar' by Tony Judt
-'Attack on the Soviet Union' Volume Four, Germany and The Second World War-This book is probably the most detailed book on its subject, it's contains all of the constellations of factors that lead up the to the conflict( in the first part). I'am not up to the second part of the book which details the actual war itself( This book is 1400 pages  ) the first half details the "War Policy" in terms of its economic structures, Red Army planning, military policies ,organizational preparations, foreign alliances, etcs for the massive operation "Barbarossa". I highly recommend the entire series, however you can only get it through a college library its to expensive to buy( this book alone costs Around $400).
-'Three Faces of Fascism' by Ernst Nolte-I heard that Nolte was one of the few 'objective' scholars on Fascism/National socialism.
-'A Cultural History of the Modern Age' Volume Two-By Egon Friedell
-'Revolt Against the Modern World' By Julius Evola- Re-reading for the third time this year. I still don't know what to think of his oeuvre, I own all of his books hopefully I'll finish them this summer.
-'The Forced War' by David Hoggan'/'Origins of the Second World War by Taylor-Both Books Overturn the Common myth that Hitler alone was responsible for the War that destroyed Europe.
-'Kant and Modern Philosophy' Cambridge Edition
BTW, Does anyone know how to procure of a copy of Evola's "Theory of the Absolute Individual" or is this not translated into english yet?

Since the beginning of the year, with a couple of rereads and ones from the I've never seemed to finish stack:
Wolfgang Schivelbusch. The Culture of Defeat: On National Trauma, Mourning, and Recovery
A fine read. It deals with the U.S. South after our Civil War, France after the Franco-Prussian War, and Germany after WWI. The psychological aspects of various vanquished nations, at least conceptually speaking, is quite a fascinating idea for a book.
Ruth Ben-Ghiat. Fascist Modernities: Italy, 1922-1945
Nicholas Griffin. Caucasus: Mountain Men and Holy Wars
George Beurling & Leslie Roberts. Malta Spitfire: The Diary of a Fighter Pilot
Another example of Italian ineptitude in the Mediterranean theater of operations.
Gunther Just. Stuka Pilot Hans Ulrich Rudel: His Life Story in Words and Photographs
Another really nice Schiffer publication. A veritable ton of new photos, as well as biographical information that wasn't included in Rudel's autobiography. Quite a few post war pics and stories from his time in Argentina, too.
Riccardo Orizio. Talk Of The Devil: Encounters With Seven Dictators
I read this same author's Lost White Tribes a year or so ago, and was happy to pick this up recently. Interesting "concept book", as it were. Orizio purposely went to interview 7 fallen dictators, as he said "..those who fall on their own feet tend not to examine their own conscience." I'd have to agree with him, at least in general principle. As for the former depots interviewed, the list is as follows: Idi Amin, Jean-Bedel Bokassa, Wojciech Jaruzelski, Enver and Nexhmije Hoxha, Jean-Claude Duvalier, Mengistu Haile-Mariam, Slobadan Milosevic and Mira Markovic, and lest we forget ol' grapefruit puss, a letter from Manuel Noriega.
It's not necessarily the fact that this list of men are, imo, equal in the particular crimes, but more in their own self-absorbtion. Some of the less intellectually equipped, i.e., Bokassa, left me giggling to no end at the degree of myopia in their cavalier answers to Orizio's queries. A great deal of unintended humor evoked here, which always makes for a good read. His deadpan line of questioning, as well as his non PC takes on various issues, added to jocular nature of the book. Pretty impressive, too, that he was able to get interviews and not just toss up softballs to this group. It clocks in at just under 200 pages and I'd highly recommend it, as I did his other work.
James. D. Bulloch. The Secret Service of The Confederate States in Europe: How the Confederate Cruisers Were Equipped
Erich Raeder. Grand Admiral: The Personal Memoir of The Commander in Chief of the German Navy From 1935 Until His Final Break With Hitler in 1943
I'd been working on Raeder's book on-and-off for a while now. Really quite a worthwhile read. I was unaware of his involvement, or at least the specifics, in the Great War, previously. The book reads very well, as he's very efficient in the narrative and gives one a strong feeling of his professionalism. I'd read Donitz's memoirs years ago, and I'd have to say, superfluous of politics, Raeder cuts a more impressive, sympathetic figure, and his writing is much more enjoyable to read, imo.
James Burnham. Suicide of The West: The Definitive Analysis of the Pathology of Liberalism
Jonathan Petropoulos. The Faustian Bargain: The Art World in Nazi Germany
Samuel W, Mitcham. Rommel's Greatest Victory: The Desert Fox and the Fall of Tobruk, Spring 1942

Nicholas Harman. Dunkirk: The Patriotic Myth
Adrian Weir. The Last Flight of the Luftwaffe: The Suicide Attack on the Eight Air Force, 7 April 1945
Helmut Walser Smith. The Butcher's Tale: Murder and Anti-Semitism in a German Town
If you can stomach all of the biases in this one - and that's a big if, as attacks on conservative Christians don't get much strident than this - this is an interresting yarn. The story revolves around a young boy who was brutally murdered, dismembered and had the blood draned from him in 1900 in a small town in Prussia. Long story short, it deals with the Jewish pastime of blood libel and ritual murder and the subsequent Lutheran response - it wasn't pretty. Even though the Jewish presence is way overdone - as the book tends to make far-reaching, inaccurate stabs at analysis & the German psyche - there's quite a bit of interesting cultural history of small town Prussia at the turn of the last century.
Helmut Altner. Berlin Dance of Death
This was good light reading. It's about a 17-year-old was is enlisted in the last 4 weeks of the war in the general region of Berlin. Different perspective, obviously, than the large accumulation of books already written on the subject.
Lawrence Sondhaus. Preparing for Weltpolitik: German Sea Power Before the Tirpitz Era
The Naval Press puts out some obscure material/titles at times. This being one of them. I'd known absolutely nothing on the specifics of the 19th century German maritime prior to this. The same author has written on the Hapsburg Empire's activities at sea, too. Another neglected subject.
Stephen Yafa. Big Cotton: How A Humble Fiber Created Fortunes, Wrecked Civilizations, And Put America On The Map
Fergus Fleming. The Sword and the Cross: Two Men and an Empire of Sand
Little different take than usual on France's imperialistic ambitions in North Africa. I would recommend it over some of the more chronological tracts I've read on the subject. The author, Fleming, can actually turn a phrase rather well, at least for an historian.
Cinzia Romani. Tainted Goddesses: Female Film Stars of the Third Reich
A nice, large format pb on the subject. A reprieve from the typical demonization of the topic, with the top twenty or so German actresses of the period. Lots of pics, too. To be honest, sans the introduction, the book reads like a book of the American cinema of the era. Cool pick up.
Jo Fox. Filming Women In The Third Reich
I'd read a portion of this one last year. It's more of a scholarly tome, at least in comparison to Romani's. Reading the latter's got me to finish this one for any tie-ins. It's a far more comprehensive work into all aspects of female involvement in the German cinema '33-'45. Whereas the former has more fluff and gloss.
James Lucas. Kommando
Another I'd started ages ago, but just finished. Some don't particularly care for Lucas' views, I actually enjoy his writings, however, as he writes on obscure aspects of the war at times. This one has the standard special ops, e.g., Eben Emal, The Bulge, Mussolini's rescue, the para drop on Tito et al. It also has some lesser-known Brandenburg operations in French North Africa and Tunisia, as well Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine and poltically oriented special forces.
Steven Newton. Retreat From Leningrad: Army Group North 1944/1945
This is the first translations of the U.S. Army sponsored reports of the German defensive campaigns of Army Group North in the latter stages of the war. It's the most exhaustive I've come across on the subject. Certainly as an tactical study, as well as at an operational level. I enjoyed it more than Werner Haupt's Army Group North, myself.
Jack Greene & Alessandro Massignani. The Black Prince and the Sea Devils: The Story of Valerio Borghese and the Elite Units of The Decima Mas
Part biography, part history of the Italian Decima Mas, who were the Naval special ops in WWII. Borghese was certainly a character worthy of a bio. In addition to his successes in WWII, he was rumored to have been behind the sinking of a Soviet battleship in '55 and led a failed, right wing coup in Italy in '70. Passed away in exile, in Franco's Spain, a few years later.
Robert Lesser. Pulp Art: Original Cover Painting for the Great American Pulp Magazines
Nicely laid out, coffee table-styled book on pulp mags. A zillion well-replicated reproductions. Picked it up on the cheap. Good find.
Traudl Junge (Ed. Melissa Muller). Until The Final Hour: Hitler's Last Secretary
When I saw this one go into the import overstocks, I was actually enthused to read it. I had seen something on it previously. What it's comprised of, however, is a reminiscence of hers back in '47. It was intended for newspaper serialization in Britain and the States, but never hit the ink. For the most part, it's just banal observations from a secretary. Some of the anecdotes of A.H. and his inner-circle are kind of interesting, but certainly nothing revelatory.
One prevailing theme that hits you like a ton of bricks, though: the editor's tone on the subject of the Thrid Reich vs. Junge's POV in '47. Suffice it to say, the former's are self-serving & downright clumsy. This best examplifies Muller's spin, while explaining a - yes - mere secretary's "guilt":
Pgs. 217-218
" She does not play down the fact that she provided him (A.H.) with female company while he and his acomplices were implementing the 'final solution'."
I surprised she didn't have an all-capped, running commentary at the bottom of each page, extolling what Junge really thought in '47. Hopefully, this woman stays away from subject of WWII in the future. We can only hope.
Dennis Showalter. Patton And Rommel: Men of War in the Twentieth Century
Nothing really new here that hasn't been traveled down by many their numerous biographers. I didn't know, but this was a "History Book Club edition", which tend to be rather generalized in nature to begin with. A good one to practice one's speed reading skills, at least.
Steven A. LeBlanc & Katherine E. Register. Constant Battles: The Myth of the Peaceful, Noble Savage
I'm only 50 pages into this one, but this one looks to be a ground breaker of sorts. LeBlanc is a archaeologist at Harvard, and this book is riveting. No pristine and peaceful worlds of ancient lore to be found here, folks.
Pick this one up.
Steven Heller & Louise Fili. Deco Espana: Graphic Design of the Twenties and Thirties
Well ilustrated book. There's quite a bit of propaganda posters from their civil war I'd never seen. The material isn't on par with the Italians, or even the French, but not bad at all. The publisher, Chronicle Books, lays out their books very nicely.
Sven Steenberg. Vlasov
It's a biography on the ROA General, of course. The author was born in Riga and served as an interpretor in the Wehrmacht during the war. I'd read this years ago, but was worth a second gander. All in all, a postive look at Vlasov. It doesn't go into Keelhaul to the same degree as Tolstoy or Epstein's works do, but still a sound effort.
Richard Gid Powers. Not Without Honor: The History of American Anticommunism
Working on this for a while. Relatively comprehensive work, but I differed too much with the author's opinions and conclusions, particualrly on the major players involved. I can't recommend it.
Daniel Meyerson. The Linguist and the Emperor: Napoleon and Champollion's Quest to Decipher the Rosetta Stone
John Toland. In Mortal Combat: Korea, 1950-1953
nastasio Somoza. Nicaragua Betrayed
George Charles Roche III. Frederic Bastiat: A Man Alone
Allen Dulles. The Secret Surrender

As an undergrad English major 1997-2001 at a large public university, I read more interesting books/authors I heard about from fellow students than from my assigned reading in school. My focus area was early 20th century American lit, I've read pretty much everything written by Hemingway, Faulkner, Steinbeck, and Fitzgerald. Also a lot of Dos Passos, Sherwood Anderson, Sinclair Lewis, Dreiser, Upton Sinclair. Also much of the mid-20th century, Kerouac, Burroughs, Hunter S. Thompson, Tom Wolfe, pretty much every prose novel and story Bukowski ever wrote, Philip Roth, John Updike. Newer stuff like Bret Easton Ellis, David Lodge, Irvine Welsh, Will Self as well. I've also read extensively (in English) Dostoevsky [yes, the inspiration for my VNN name], Tolstoy, Sartre, Solzhenitsin.
In school the marxists running the English department made sure to assign every female or non-white author they could find. When writing papers we were encouraged to use secondary sources published ONLY after 1980 (by which time all the jew/feminists/homos from the 1960's achieved tenure and set about to "revise" the canon). This was a very white school with a very white faculty, funded on the taxpayer dime. The last paper I wrote before graduating was for an English/Linguistics class I was required to take, the assigned subject was the "invariant habitual be", 7 pages on how niggers say he be this or she be that. The professor was a Long Island jewess, and I had to pass the class to graduate, which I did with an A.
My latest 5 (or 50) I've read are mostly non-fiction, politics, business, economics, history. Re-post more on that maybe later.
