I am not a nuclear physicist so perhaps someone here could clarify something for me.

It seems that Nuclear weapons and Nuclear power plants have to be maintained or they leak or meltdown.

I don’t know everything about them but I am curious about this.

In the event of a national tragedy such as a total economic collapse if there was no one in the area to maintain these power plants and weapons wouldn’t they meltdown or leak and cause radiation hazards that would last for thousands of years?

This is something I have never seen discussed and something that should be considered.

well. I think a collapse is unlikely. much hoping for armageddon. but a gradual pullback of empire and so forth is more likely as oil prices rise.

but let's just say there was a "collapse" of the usual imaginary variety. one could imagine in turn that your average physics professor, not just the William Pierce variety, just the average wonk, would have the smarts to realize who his friends were, and would gravitate to White enclaves. The White enclaves would hopefully be smart enough to grab nuke materials or where they would be located outside the enclave, demolish them irreperably. So that would be the plan.

There are procedures present for such an event. In other wörds, one can safely shut down a reactor, during such termporary emergencies.

Yes the scenario is one of perhaps a biological weapon that sweeps the nation in a couple of days, this could happen through airplanes and a delayed reaction.

People talk of apocalyptic scenarios, but I think a biological weapon is the most likely to happen.

If all these types of places were abandoned rapidly would the people in charge be able to shut them down in time and if they leaked would their radiation further the problem.

In my opinion the event of a race war, complete natural disaster, or total economic collapse along with a collapse of government is unlikely, but a biological outbreak is very likely. This is something you can’t prepare for by stocking up food and guns, and hiding behind a brick wall.

However if a person is devising a survival retreat this is still something that should be considered, how close you are to a nuclear power plant or nuclear weapons site should be considered.

Here in WVA we are reliant on coal and natural fuels, and despite what the doomsayers have to say there is actually enough coal already mined and on reserve to last us for five years.

I know this because someone wanted their coal mined and the company wouldn’t mine it because they said they had to cut back mining as they already had to much in reserves already, from there I discovered that there is about 5 years of reserve coal already mined.

Also for heat we are dependent on natural gas mostly also so if society collapsed the wells would still provide the only difference is you would still be able to cook and heat you just wouldn’t have a monthly bill.

This wealth of natural resources is one of the reasons I think WVA, KY and Tenn are good places to retreat to in case of a universal disaster.
