The Pogues, the hard drinking macho Irish Band has hit hard times. With successful albums and hits based on Folk Music like the 'Irish Rover' , they were a great live act.

Pogues ex-Lead singer Shane McGowan has formed a new band ‘The Popes’.
He may need to form another Band, ‘The Poofs’ after his recent headline news where he was beaten up and kicked to the floor after soliciting sex with an Irish Builder in a Bar toilet in Belgravia London.

McGowan who had a hit with ‘Fairy tale of New York’ with Kirsty McColl seems to be sad decline.

Krusty McColl had her own ‘final hit’, with a speeding Motorboat :o whilst swimming in Mexico and is no longer with us.

Well that's just sad. I was a fan of the Pogues, but had never heard of McGowan being a queer. Damn.

Kinda sheds a new light on their album Rum, Sodomy and the Lash, eh?
