Tadić congratulates new Croat president

BELGRADE -- President Boris Tadić congratulated on Monday Ivo Josipović on his victory in the second round of Croatia’s presidential elections.

Tadić urged him to work together on “establishing of the European civilization norms in the Western Balkans and preservation of peace and stability in the region”.

“The future of all peoples and states in the region is in the European Union where we should be good neighbors and friends. Serbia and Croatia have a key role in the process of transformation of West Balkans into a zone of lasting stability and sustainable development. The prerequisites of such policy are establishing of a legal state, tolerance and work on joint economic goals and other values,” Tadić’s message was quoted by news agencies.

As for the genocide lawsuits filed before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) by both countries, Tadić “reiterated Serbia's stand that any confrontation between states and their people is futile”, adding that it is “more appropriate to solve such disputes by way of out-of-court settlements”.

“However, domestic courts should protect the rights of victims, who as he underlined, must never be forgotten,” the Serbian president's office stated.

“There is no collective guilt and every criminal can be named. The criminals should be punished for their deeds for the sake of victims and their families and reconciliation of peoples in the Balkans,” Tadić underscored.

According to him, Serbia expects from the new Croatian president the recognition of Serbia's integrity, return of the exiled Serbs, returning of their property, acknowledgement of human and minority rights, the right to work and employment and the right to the preservation of identity and culture, including the right to the use of letter and language.

“Moreover, Serbia has the same obligation toward its Croat national minority ,” Tadić said.

-all Serbs was returned to their jobs in justace department (80% of Serbs working there)
- Croatia giving big money to Serbian cultural centers

etc....

All is maded for Serbs to be happy...allmost they have bigger rights and help from state then Jews...almost.

Austrian newspapers have branded Croatian President-elect Ivo Josipovic as "little charismatic" but more credible than his opponent Milan Bandic.

Josipovic, who will take office next month after yesterday’s (Sun) run-off ballot, benefited from Bandic’s failed attempt to win the support of conservative and right-wing voters, according to Die Presse.

Bandic’s bid suffered a blow when he failed to make clear what his policy regarding abortion was in a TV debate last Friday, the Austrian daily writes in its edition from today (Mon), describing Josipovic as "calmer and more competent" than Bandic.

Josipovic has, according to Kurier, am "impeccable reputation". That is why voters believed in his pledge to tackle the country’s rampant corruption, according to the newspaper.

Austrian papers explained that another advantage of the Social Democrat was that he spoke better English than opponent Bandic.

Die Presse claimed Bandic’s promises to crack down on corruption were less convincing than the announcements by Josipovic since Bandic "is involved in some scandals himself".

Kurier describes Josipovic as "little charismatic and as dry as a bone" but as a strong supporter of Croatia’s bid to join the European Union. "Josipovic is a vigorous pro-European," Die Presse claims.

"Josipovic acted more statesmanlike than Bandic, who sought support in nationalist circles, among war veterans and among Croats in Bosnia," the Salzburger Nachrichten reports.

He is law proffesor....we Croats have name for that kind of people: un-salted....means: man without esence.
