Al Qassam website - The Information center of "Wadi helwa" revealed that the municipality of the Zionist occupation in the occupied city of Jerusalem began to pass a project called (11555), which includes the confiscation of 70% of the land of Helwa valley in Silwan southern of Al Aqsa mosque.
According to the Center, the main objective of this project is to expand and protect the excavations as well as transform the region into a tourist shrine and expanding tunnels without paying attention to the interest of the Palestinian population.
The area of Helwa Valley is 548.5 acres; 18.7% of it are residential areas including people's homes and their surrounding areas in addition to the settlement established on the lands of the citizens there.
The draft allocates 8.14% of the land for the graves - nearly half the space allocated to the districts - 9.6% for streets and roads, 1.7% for public buildings and 2.4% for religious buildings, knowing that the neighborhood contains a mosque and a church which means that one synagogue will be added at least.
According to the statement of the center, the remaining 70% of the land will be confiscated for the benefit of the Jerusalem Municipality, the District Committee and the Authority of Antiquities and Nature in the form of parking lots, corridors and open land.
