I remember watching a science show (mid 90's), they basically asserted that housecats are on an evolutionary path to full anthropomorphism, and in only 3 billion years. If the sun isn't dead by then, I might consider reincarnation one more time.

Cats are cool. I didn't use to like them but once you get to know that each cat is different there are some really fun ones. Given that in a free for all right now on the planet if humans were gone the cats and their big cousins would probably kill everyone else, even the wolves and bears (maybe not the Grizzly bears) I can see them evolving to being our replacements. :) Of course I don't have as much of a preference for white kitties as I do others.
