SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A 26-year-old man has been charged after the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office said he tried to light a house on fire and then assaulted several people while intoxicated on Saturday.The office said Jonathan Bernard Rucker is accused of entering a house in the 8800 block of MacArthur Boulevard in Superior Township, looking for someone who was not inside, ransacking the upstairs and trying to use bleach to start the house on fire.
The office also said a woman inside the house at the time was assaulted by Rucker as she tried to stop him.Rucker showed up a short time later at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and assaulted medical personnel as they treated him for non-life threatening injuries he had previously received before the incident on MacArthur Boulevard, the office said. He is charged with obstructing and resisting police, malicious destruction of property, arson and aggravated assault.The office said Rucker was "highly intoxicated" but did not release a blood alcohol level result.His bond was set at $250,000 or 10 percent.http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/23451385/detail.html
