The lead story of 60 Minutes this evening was the Justice Department reopening the Emmitt Till Case. It's another blatant attempt to instill guilt on the white masses and overlook the fact the blacks overwhelmingly commit crimes against whites rather than vice versa.

Uppity Negro Ed Bradley would walk around harassing supposed accomplices in the Till murder (the two main murder suspects, who were acquitted, are now dead).

Little known fact: Till's father, a WWII vet, was executed in Italy for raping and killing two Italian women.

That is interesting about Till's father. I had never heard that before, big surprise :p Do you have any links to that story?

I distinctly remember the Daily News sent a reporter to Chicago to dig out the information that Till's father, who died in service in Europe in 1945 was not killed in combat, but in some non-military altercation involving a civilian, (a French woman as I recall) and they played up the story on page one.

Emmett Till's father was executed during WWII for rape in Italy. Mamie Till was not told why he was killed until after Emmett's death when Mississippi senator Eastland found and released his records to the public. This was done after the trail in an effort to turn public sentiment against Mrs. Till and to insure that there would not be another trail for kidnapping. We felt that although this is an interesting story it was tangential to the documentary.

WASHINGTON — Nearly 50 years after a 14-year-old boy's murder in Mississippi helped galvanize the American civil rights movement, the Justice Department launched an investigation to determine whether others were involved in the kidnapping and brutal slaying of Emmett Till.

Federal authorities said Monday they were acting in part on information that emerged in a pair of documentaries focusing on the black teenager's death and from numerous letters urging the government to reopen the case that spurred national outrage. (Related photos: Remembering Emmett Till)

While visiting relatives in Mississippi in 1955, Till was taken from his bed, beaten and shot in the head after he wolf-whistled at a white woman in a local grocery store.

His body, tied with barbed wire to a heavy metal fan, was later pulled from the Tallahatchie River. An all-white jury acquitted the two primary suspects in the case, J.W. Milam and Roy Bryant, the husband of the white woman.

After their acquittals, the men confessed to the slaying in interviews with a reporter. Both Milam and Bryant have died, and no other suspects have been prosecuted in the case.

"The Emmett Till case stands at the crossroads of the American civil rights movement," said Assistant Attorney General Alexander Acosta, chief of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division. "We owe it to Emmett Till and we owe it to ourselves to see whether after all these years, some additional measure of justice remains possible."

Till's death rallied intense support for the civil rights cause after the teenager's mother in Chicago chose an open-casket funeral to expose the severe wounds Till suffered in the attack.

The Rev. Wheeler Parker, 67, Till's cousin, was with the teenager the day he whistled at Carolyn Bryant at Bryant's Grocery and was sleeping in the house the night Till was taken away. He expressed surprise at the government's decision. "I wasn't anticipating anything happening. ... I'm really surprised because someone in Mississippi is pursuing it," Parker said. "Mississippi has come a long way."

NAACP President Kweisi Mfume said "this is a day of mixed emotions. We're glad that the investigation is being re-opened but sad that it has taken so long. The nation can't put to bed this part of the civil rights era without resolving a glaring injustice such as this."

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., one of several people who appealed for a new review of the case, said he hoped the government would conduct a speedy review because of the advanced age of potential witnesses. "In this rare instance, justice delayed will not be justice denied," Schumer said.

Acosta said he recently dispatched members of his staff to meet with Mississippi authorities to discuss information about the case included in the film The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till.

The still-unfinished documentary was shown to Mississippi officials in January. Filmmaker Keith Beauchamp suggested that as many as 10 people could have played a role in the murder.

Stanley Nelson, director of a separate PBS documentary, The Murder of Emmett Till, which first aired two years ago, also said it was "clear there were other people who have evidence who never gave it at the trial. We quickly and easily found them," Nelson said. "I hope the Justice Department will quickly and easily find others."

John Dittmer, author of Local People: The Struggle for Civil Rights in Mississippi, said the new investigation could provide a resolution to the case. "This is a chance to really get to the bottom of what went on there," Dittmer said. "That trial was such a farce, and to have nothing done since then just cries out for justice here."

Acosta said FBI agents were being dispatched to assist in an investigation to be headed by Joyce Chiles, a district attorney in Mississippi.

The assistant attorney general acknowledged that the passage of time may be a difficult problem to overcome but vowed to conduct a complete review of the case. "Even if it's incredibly difficult," Acosta said.

Mfume said authorities were able to overcome a similar lapse in time in the 1994 prosecution of Byron De La Beckwith in the 1963 murder of civil rights activist Medgar Evers.

"Difficulty is relative," Mfume said. "An effort has to be made."

Seriously, I was watching this 60 min piece with some friends/family that are "on the fence" (they think I'm a "neo-Nazi, I told them that they could drop the "neo").

Anyway, I noticed how deeply moved they were when 60 min showed footage of the dead/beaten/mutilated negroid. They all gasped and turned their heads away. Their reaction was exactly what the kiken-media want.

So, being the good racialist that I am, I wasted no time countering the kiken-media's propaganda with some of my very own.
