Music is thankful for the eliviation of the suffering caused by this tasteless DJ:
http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Music/10/26/john.peel.dead/index.html

"...He joined the BBC in 1967, becoming the longest-serving DJ on BBC Radio 1.

Peel was among the first DJs to play demo tapes by little-known bands --championing acts ranging from Jimi Hendrix to The Smiths, The Fall, Pulp and Northern Irish punks The Undertones..."

Well,at least this Whitey had four (Hopefully White) children. And,hopefully, they'll learn what jiggarillas are really like, before it's too late.

I still have a few "Peel Session" albums of The Damned, Extreme Noise Terror, and Doom. I really don't think that he was political, just a music lover who was pretty adventurous. Sure his promotion of reggae and rap (which he later renounced) are not to my liking but I don't think he was a red. I have to admit being a little sad over his dying.

His favorite song was Teenage Kicks by the Undertones.

He was definately a liberal.
Like those other 'radicals' Bragg & Strummer he chose to man the barricades from the depths of the English countryside-don't listen to what they say, watch what they do !
But i must admit i'm very sad he's gone, he was very English and genteel.Just another child of the bourgeoisie with a bad conscience.

He was one of the very few in the music business who gave a shit. Adventurous is right. From Hippy thru Punk and beyond he was always ahead of the game. And there goes another legend. Rest in Peace John.

Peel was a talentless twonk. He made a fortune by being talentless and having a really boring voice. Enuff said !

Just read the VNN British Forum on Peel. Didn't know Peel was an ANL supporter. Oh well......fuck him then.
