View Full Version : I am surprised no one reported on the condition of Yasser Arafat

One of the reasons I enjoy VNNF is the up to the minute news reports. When Castro fell it was reported within minutes on VNNF and then entertaining commentary followed.
Yasser Arafat is very sick and has been on the news all day but I haven’t seen anyone report on this. Unless I missed the thread. But I am curious about the reaction and commentary on VNNF.
I didn’t bother to search a link, but this seems like something R-Mac or AE one would have reported hours ago and then gave a follow-up with witty or thought provoking comments.

from aljazeera:
Arafat's failing health triggers concern
Thursday 28 October 2004, 2:57 Makka Time, 23:57 GMT
Some fears more chaos as Arafat has no named successor
Senior Palestinian leaders are said to have been summoned to the West Bank headquarters of Palestinian President Yasir Arafat amid increasing concern over the ageing leader's health.
Conflicting reports about the 75-year-old leader's health led to intense speculations on Wednesday.
But a senior Arafat-aide told Aljazeera that the Palestinian president was fine, but needed rest.
A team of Tunisian doctors were said to be attending to the ailing leader.
Security alert
Security forces meanwhile are said to have been put on high alert as confusion over Arafat's condition swept the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian authorities denied reports that Arafat had issued a decree naming a three-man committee, comprising Prime Minister Ahmad Quraya, former premier Mahmud Abbas and Palestine National Council speaker Salim al-Zaanoun.
Arafat has been holed up in Ram
Allah for more than two years
"There is no committee that has been formed, this is not true," said Arafat-aide Nabil Abu Rudeneh.
Questions over Arafat's health have increased fears of chaos in Palestinian territories because he has not named an obvious successor.
Israel said it would "permit" Arafat to seek treatment wherever he wished to.
But an Arafat aide said the Palestinian patriarch preferred treatment at his West Bank headquarters because he feared that if he left, Israel would not allow him to return.
An Arafat spokesman said medical teams from Egypt and Jordan were expected on Thursday.
"The president needs more time to rest because of exhaustion," he said.
Palestinian officials insist Arafat is recovering from a bout of "stomach flu".
Witnesses said Quraya and Abbas had gone into Arafat's headquarters.
Officials said the president's wife, Suha Arafat, was expected in Ram Allah from her Paris home on Thursday.
Arafat underwent a minor diagnostic procedure on Monday after complaining of stomach pains. Palestinian officials said then that an endoscopy found no serious ailment but the president remained weak.
Palestinian Foreign Minister Nabil Shaat said stomach cancer had been ruled out.

Aero Fat works for the jews. Probably wants to retire and spend the money thats been accumulating in his swiss bank accounts provided by the jew. Be on the look out for a hooked nose beady eyed aerofat wearing his picknik table cloth in the caribbean islands around december.
But seriously, who cares? Its the jews at your local courthouse and city hall that matter more than a bunch of hook noses in a desert wasteland halfway around the globe.

Officials: Arafat’s condition deteriorating
Palestinian leader undergoing new tests in French hospitalThe Associated Press
Yasser Arafat was in intensive care undergoing fresh tests Thursday after his still-unexplained condition took a sudden turn for the worse, Palestinian officials said.
The officials, speaking to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, said the Palestinian leader’s condition had seriously deteriorated Wednesday and he was rushed into intensive care at the French military hospital where he has been undergoing treatment for a week.
Doctors still don’t know the cause of the blood and digestive disorders uncovered over the past few days, the sources said, adding that Arafat was undergoing additional tests.
French hospital and military officials declined to comment.
Abbas reportedly en route
Israel Radio reported that Mahmoud Abbas, No. 2 in the hierarchy of Arafat’s Palestine Liberation Organization and his first prime minister, was on his way Thursday morning to Paris to see him.
Yet Arafat’s top aides denied there had been any setback and accused Israel of spreading rumors. The report first aired on Israel’s Channel Two television.
“These unfounded reports are not coming from French medical teams, these are leaks from the Israeli side,” said Mohammed Dahlan, a former Palestinian security chief.
“Leaking such rumors will only complicate things and also complicate the situation within the Palestinian public,” he told reporters in Paris.
Arafat, who has been ill for three weeks, was flown to the French military hospital on Friday after passing out briefly at his west Bank headquarters.
He was initially described as having a bad flu, with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.
Palestinian officials insist publicly leukemia and other forms of cancer, as well as any type of poisoning, have been ruled out.
Aides remain optimistic
Undoubtedly conscious of the anxiety back home at the thought of a future without Arafat — who has led the Palestinians for 40 years with no obvious successor — they have previously described his condition as improving and said more tests were being done.
Khaled Salem, Arafat’s top aide, said early Thursday that the medical analysis was “deepening a little bit” but he remained confident Arafat would recover.
“There are no setbacks,” he told reporters outside the hospital. “It’s no secret he’s ill, that’s why he’s in France, but there is no threat, there is no danger, no serious degradation.”
Israel plans for contingencies
However, top Israeli security officials were meeting Thursday to study the repercussions in the Middle East should Arafat die, said Israeli officials speaking to The AP on condition of anonymity.
Attending the meeting are Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz and Army Chief Lt. Gen. Moshe Yaalon, the officials said.
Speculation in Israel has ranged from a viral infection to stomach cancer.
His brother, Fathi Arafat, has had stomach cancer for four years and is currently hospitalized in Cairo, Egypt, with an advanced stage, according to doctors there.
On Tuesday, one source who said he had been briefed on the Palestinian leader’s status told The Associated Press that his condition was “fatal” — but he gave no further details and the claim could not be confirmed.
On Wednesday, Leila Shahid, the Palestinian envoy to France who has been serving as Arafat’s official spokeswoman in Paris, said Arafat felt well enough to ask about the U.S. presidential election. An aide later issued a statement in Arafat’s name congratulating President Bush on his re-election.
Efforts early Thursday to reach Shahid were unsuccessful.
Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said Israel is tracking Arafat’s health “very carefully.
“Our goal is to prepare for the day after, if and when he dies,” he told Israel Radio.
Israeli intelligence was widely criticized after it was caught off guard last week by the sudden deterioration in Arafat’s health.
Shalom said his condition “is very serious,” but gave no details. At the same time, he said, “it is too soon to eulogize Yasser Arafat.”
Arafat has been in the hospital for over a week and they still don't know what is wrong with him. That seems just a bit strange ;)
Stomach ailments. Poisoning perhaps?
It wouldn't surprise me if Israel had him "offed" somehow. Though if poisoning were involved one would think that could easily be detected. Maybe not...maybe the Mossad has ways of snuffing people that are undetectable. Or maybe the doctors involved are not revealing the nature of Arafat's condition because they've been warned not to...I know this is 'conspiracy' stuff but it's not implausible.
And now reports say the Israelis--especially the "settlers" on the West Bank--are bracing for mass attacks by the Pals.
Isn't this kind of destabilization just the kind of thing Israel wants? If arabs start a real, mass assault on Israel over this (either out of irrational grief or because they smell a rat) then Israel has the excuse it needs to counterstrike and wipe them out. And who knows what kind of larger conflagration this could spark. I'm sure Israel would love to start nuking Arab and Islamic capitals, and is overconfident enough to take the risk of doing so and coming out on top (backed up by you know who). When the big war finally breaks out in the Mideast it will probably be sparked by some Israeli action, at a time of their choosing. Through an action like this, perhaps. And at a time like this, with talk in the air of civil war within Israel over the settlements. A renewed arab threat is just what Sharon needs to get jews united again and back on task (the establishment of Greater Israel).
And now, according to this German source, Arafat is dead:

Actually poisioning is sometimes very hard to detect, unless they are looking directly for it. And the Mossad would certainly would have the capability to pull off something, as relatively simple as a poisioning, in the most effective and undetectable manner.

It could be a very good thing for the Jews, at least for a while. If they do get someone who is young and determined, that would give the Jews all the reason they would need to escalate their violence against the Palestinians. If they did kill Arafat, this would be their motive for doing it now.

Very true, I keep forgetting how the Jew operates. Create a war build sympathy for being persecuted get the goyim to do their fighting and take in more land while starving and enslaving their opponents.
So now I am curious how the Palestinians should fight the Jews.
Aggression brings war and pity for the Jews thus causing everyone else to fight for the Jews and take more land.
Non-aggression allows the Jews to continue to slaughter their people and build walls.
While I could care the least about the Palestinians we have a common enemy and a similar situation. So a strategy that would bring a victory for Palestinians would be educational and useful for whites also.
It is really almost like a no-win situation for the Palestinians. One step in the right direction for them would be if the United States completely stopped supporting Israel...
Alex Linder would have an exponentially better chance of succeeding Sharon in the knesset. :p
I would tend to think that at some level, the yahudae in It'z-A-Fake would rather that Arafat had lived, because with him now quickly assuming room temperature, the kikenvermin are going to have to start all over again with a new Palestinian leader in their efforts to deceive the world into believing that this replacement (like Arafat, but UNLIKE Sharon, of course) is the REAL impediment to a genuine Middle East peace settlement. Thus, Sharon's intransigence will now be a little bit harder to justify, but we know that Bush-evik will help him through the "rough times".
Moreover, we're not supposed to notice that Sharon, like all before him, has continually ignored the Palestinians' "Right of Return", nor are we to react with any emotion other than unbridled glee that Dumbya became the first U.S. President in over 35 years to officially sanction the illegal building of jewish settlements in the West Bank. U.N. sanctions are NEVER supposed to apply to It-z-A-Fake, just their enemies (Iraq, for example, and how many more American troops died over there today, eh?).
