[size=3]Dangers of Television

It provides great temptation to sin

It robs children of their innocence

It desensitizes

It mesmerizes and feeds the subconscious

It corrupts our values

It creates perceived needs

It creates godless heroes

It makes the viewer partners to sin

It gives instruction on bad behavior

It promotes godless problem solving

It creates a false view of reality

It fuels the imagination with negative images

It teaches a "no consequence" lifestyle

It breeds unreal fear

It promotes mistrust and cynicism

It feeds self-centeredness and self-indulgence

It breeds intolerance of deprivation and moderation

It destroys the attention span

It creates learning disabilities

It creates an appetite for entertainment

It destroys creativity

It hinders the reasoning process

It creates artificially induced stress

It promotes violent behavior

It breaks down interpersonal communication

It desensationalizes miracles

It feeds the desire for supernatural and occult power

It can be habit-forming

It is addictive in nature

It is damaging to our physical health

It offers escape from reality and responsibility

It is a waste of time

I have noticed a lot of Christians have taken to kicking the Jew box out the window. About the only television I watch any more is DIY or RFDTV (good white programming for white people they have good polka shows to). I encourage the Christians at my congregation to ditch their television. In my area people (racists and non-racists alike) and getting so disgusted with television that they are canceling their cable and just turning it off altogether.

People thought the passion was going to be the spark that brought Christians back to reality, but that is simply more television input (the last thing we need). I believe that when people turn the television off and take reality in without the Jew’s media telling them what to believe about it, they will begin to come around.

It doesn’t take someone very long using independent thought and forming their own decisions based on their surroundings to know something is wrong.

I found these points to be the most damning:

It breeds unreal fear

It breaks down interpersonal communication

It offers escape from reality and responsibility

Movies are just as bad.

Excellent, RMD. I would add only, in the spririt of the medium/message idea, the alarming rate of childhood/adolescent obesity, due to parents using the talMUDvision (and 'puter/V-games) as a cheap babysitter.

An idea for those not prepared to quit cold turkey is a separate media room/home theater. The more complex the operating procedures the better. While this is obviously blatant and indulgent consumerism, at least you go in to watch a specific show or DVD, rather than the box being a constant 24-hour companion, as in many living and family rooms. Even if you choose bad material (or allow your kids to do so on occasion), less of a bad thing is better, no?

less of a bad thing is definitely better.

the only person I know who grew up without TV, was a hardcore Catholic buddy.

same guy was valedictorian our high school class and studied classics at Harvard.

no tv in his house, period. at least not for most of when he was growing up; later they did get a tv/vcr combo and show vids to the wee tykes occasionally. that is almost indispensible. but no cable ever. never.

vid games will turn you into a zombie. speaking from experience. LOL

Consider your brain a muscle which needs a good work out. Reading works the brain, tv does not. TV presents all for you, books makes your mind formulate it all. Books feeds you substance to work your mental muscles, tv lays it all out like a tray of junk food giving your mental muscles a zombie high. Read the book, see the movie… my mind has spent more time mulling over the book than the movie. Read, read, read, work that brain!

lol, vid games are my biggest vice, the family knows not to expect dinner on time when mom aquires the latest first person shooter.
