The church does not consider itself Christian because the term has "been polluted" over the years, Lewis said. The church does not observe Christmas or Thanksgiving, he said.
"But we believe that people of all races and colors can be saved if they believe in the Creator," he said. "We certainly don't teach hate."

...a 21 year-old Warren County man was arrested for driving a bulldozer through a church. Thursday, authorities announced they will prosecute the offense as a hate crime.
If the charge is true, Zane Bearrick may have done more than split the First Assembly of Yaweah Church trailer in half Saturday morning with a mutli-ton trailer.
Warren County resident Rosalye Baldwin was shocked to hear the news.
"I think it is sad that anyone could have a heart that can do that," Baldwin said.
Warren County residents say he stained the community.
District Attorney Gil Martin says Bearrick's original felony maliscious mischief charge will now be prosecuted as a hate crime.
Warren County resident Linda Reed thinks if Bearrick is guilty, the charge is called for.
"I think it is appropriate," Reed said.
21 year-old Bearrick is white; the congregation is black. He has not cooperated with sheriff's deputies.
So what brought about the escalated charge?
