The title is a little bit deceptive, when I started to read the whole text there is a nasty surprise in it.

Former Australian PM attacks multiculturalism
John Howard, the former prime minister of Australia, has attacked "multiculturalism" in English-speaking nations, saying that some countries have gone too far in accommodating Muslim minorities.

Mr Howard, a conservative politician who led Australia for 11 years before he was voted out in 2007, said that the "Anglosphere" needed to take greater pride in its values and achievements.

"This is a time not to apologise for our particular identity but rather to firmly and respectfully and robustly reassert it," he told the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think-tank in Washington.

Mr Howard said that some nations had confused multiculturalism with multiracialism, in which migrants accepted the values of the country they adopted as their home.

"I am a passionate believer in multiracialism. I believe that societies are enriched if they draw, as my country has done, from all parts of the world on a non-discriminatory basis and contribute, as the United States has done, to the building of a great society," he said.

"But when a nation draws people from other parts of the world, it draws them because of the magnetism of its own culture and its own way of life."

Mr Howard, who has been accused of aggravating anti-Islamic sentiment through tough anti-terrorism laws and tighter immigration controls brought in under his government, said he welcomed Australian Muslims but warned that Islamic radicalism posed a real threat to global security.

He criticised those who would make cultural identity "mushy and unclear and undistinct," rejecting the "assumption that the way to win favour from extremism is to make yourself a little more attractive to that extremism."

"There is a tendency to see a response to terrorism in terms of placating alternative philosophies in the hope that they will accommodate you and abandon their aggressive designs on your society," he said.

Howard may be using the word "multiracialism" to describe English, Irish, Scottish, Italian, Greek, French, Russian, and a whole lot of European peoples which we would consider White.

All the White peoples of the world are constantly marginalised as being one bland race, when in fact the White race is made up of many peoples from a large diverse number of countries and continents.

Howard has a history of saying that Asian immigration is a threat to our Australian society. While Howard mentioned the Asians he never mentioned the jews.

During the Howard Government years there was a lot of unwelcome immigration, something Pauline Hanson picked up on in the late 1990's. However Australia remains a predominantly White nation.

Dead right.

Yeah I love jingoism too, it beats the facts anyday.

With one muslim federal MP and a couple of jews, you really are giving them credit they don't deserve.

You don't have to see any of these mysterious powers, you just have to write about them.

Until then you give false confidence to USA-centric fools who want to impose the description of the situation in their country onto every other nation, regardless of the facts.

Multiculturalism and multiracialism are not the same thing. WNs conflate the two but they are not the same. It's time WNs realize this; and abandon the term "multiculturalism".

No he wasn't. Why are you apologizing for this mainstream conservative miscreant.

Notably the neo-conservative movement, profoundly Jewish, is opposed to multiculturalism, but is very much in favor of multiracialism. Just like Howard.

You have given away your origins with your mis-spelling of the word "apologising".

You have a whole heap of jews in your shitty country, and this fact has nothing to do with Australia.

I want real White Australians to discuss this without your foreign input.

He said he believes in multiracialism, he said he wants immigrants to come to Australia "from all parts of the world on a non-discriminatory basis".

He does not want European-only immigration.

Why are you trying to say this kosher neo-con is pro-white when he is not.

Why are you seeing pro-white policy in his rhetoric when there is clearly no such thing?

You don't know about Howard and the abos and the asians do you? You know nothing about the Howard response to the Pauline Hanson phenomenon do you?

I have not said he is pro-White.

Why do you call Howard a "kosher neo-con"?

Why do you call Howard a "kosher neo-con"?

Howard is a kosher neo-con. His speech was to the neo-con Heritage Foundation.

He was an unwavering ally of the neo-con (tool) George Bush and his neo-con crusades in the Middle East.

His anti-Islam and "anti-terrorist" platform is a carbon copy of American and British neo-conservatism.

His free market neo-liberal policies are part of neo-conservatism.

Fuckwits like you are not worth arguing with. Instead why don't you ask David Irving who banned him from entering Australia and why.

Ex-PM’s love for Israel continues

JOHN Howard was among firm friends on Sunday night at Lincoln of Toorak, delivering the keynote address at a tribute dinner for Isi and Naomi Leibler.

Acknowledged by Isi as “the statesman who displayed the greatest support for Israel of the time”, the former Liberal prime minister gave some insights.

“It is true that in my time as prime minister I stuck up for Israel … because I thought it was right to do so, because I thought the homeland established for the Jewish people is their right.

“It still amazes me how undeniably reluctant so many countries are to recognise the fundamental right of Israel to exist.”

Howard was introduced by master of ceremonies Sam Lipski as a public figure with “a Yiddishe kop [Jewish head on his shoulders]”, which he described as a talent for thinking laterally and never giving up.

Australia’s second-longest serving prime minister recalled spending time with the Leiblers at a 1988 concert in Melbourne honouring Soviet Refuseniks, who Isi helped take to Israel.

And in a nod to recent political developments, Howard lamented he could no longer call himself “immediate past prime minister”.

Then he turned to the guests of honour – Naomi was feted for her world presidency of Emunah, particularly its Neve Michael children’s village in Pardes Chana, and Isi won plaudits for decades of service to Australian and world Jewry – and paid tribute to the couple as “two remarkable members of the world Jewish community”.

Earlier, Isi recalled his trip with the then Australian prime minister to Ramallah in 2000, when the Oslo Agreement still had currency.

Isi received an unwelcome embrace from Palestinian Authority chairman Yasser Arafat, whom he had railed against throughout his years as the Palestine Liberation Organisation’s terrorist chieftain.

Afterwards, Isi had privately expressed scepticism to Howard about those peace overtures, and was struck by the Australian leader’s “principled approach and friendship”.

“I will never forget John Howard’s response,” said Isi, quoting the former Australian leader. “‘If Arafat reneges on his commitment,’ he said, ‘the people of Israel and the Australian Jewish community should rest assured that I will not let them down’.”

John Howard was a typical Jewish backed Prime Minister. He played Australians for fools over debates on immigration, industrial relations, GST and gun laws.

At the 2001 election, he famously said "We will determine who will come to Australians and the conditions on which they will come". Between 1996 and 2007, 90% of illegal aliens (boat people) were allowed to stay in Australia and eventually became citizens. 40% of plane people were accepted as refugees.

The Howard Government got Ausralia involved in the illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Howard, after the Port Arthur massacre, confiscated nearly all firearms and destroyed them.

He lied to Australians in the 1998 election when he said that Australia would never have the GST. Two years later, he introduced the GST.

Why treat Afghanistan and Iraq differently to Vietnam? The reason for going to all three was the same, being the US military supremacy in the Pacific since World War II. You have to remember that the strategy for defending Australia from Japan and others during WWII was to abandon half the continent North of Brisbane. People forget we had Jaanese submarines in Sydney Harbour. We have 100 million muslim Indonesians in our backyard to the North and simply could not defend Australia without the USA.

John Howard made the "never ever" comment about the GST before the 1996 election when he came to power. Two years later he went to the election with the GST policy which the Australian people narrowly accepted with the re-election of the government. The mistake in your historical recollection is that the Australian people voted for a GST in 1998. Do you still have a problem with a GST 12 years later?

You are too willing to ignore the adoption of the Howard Government of all of Pauline Hansons One Nation policies between 1998 and 2001 and instead recycle old ALP propaganda and rhetoric. Why can't you accept the right-wing immigration policies of the Howard Government?

I think you may have misinterpreted the message, what I was trying to say. John Howard as I remember him was enthusiastic about so called, 'Skilled immigration',mostly from Asian countries. The multiracialism component of the news article is his view of a society transforming into something similar to Brazil where the racial distinction of the populace is blurry. He supports the idea, that eventually the races will mix into one (European Asian, Indian and some token Aboriginal/Islander) Howard did not really care what happens in the long term, he was only toting the party line. I also remember he exploited the public fears of Islam for his own ends, which kept the Liberal party longer in power way past its use by date.

During his time there was a large influx of African refugees into Australia, along with increased Asian immigration.

Most people don't remember history. Even today, Ausralia would not be able to defend it's self. We don't have any missiles and we don't have a large army. We have a highly trained and well equipt military of about 40,000 soliders and tens of thousands of people in the army reserves.

The Chinese of four million soldiers and the North Koreans have one million. There are 200 million people in Indonesia. No one these days talk about the threat posed by our northern neighbours.

I was only six years old in 1998. So, I can't remember what happened in Australia during the 1990s. Yes, I do have a remember with the tax system. Income taxes are too high. The states never abolished their taxes when the GST was introduced. The Federal Government did abolish the Sales Tac along with some other taxes but that was it. The Howard Government did reduce some taxes but they were really small and you could easily spend your tax cuts on a lunch!

You are too willing to ignore the adoption of the Howard Government of all of Pauline Hansons One Nation policies between 1998 and 2001 and instead recycle old ALP propaganda and rhetoric. Why can't you accept the right-wing immigration policies of the Howard Government?

You've got to be joking! The Howard Government accepted 90% of the boat people as refugees and 40% of the plane people as well. Not to mention the thousands of Africans and Arabs as well.
