Palestinians Attack Settlement After Arafat Dies
By Nidal al-Mughrabi
GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinian militants angry over Yasser Arafat's death attacked a Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip on Thursday in what they said signaled the start of a new round of clashes against Israel.
Israeli soldiers killed two of the gunmen, who launched a multi-pronged attack against the heavily fortified Netzarim settlement in the Gaza Strip shortly after news of Arafat's death reached the territory, medics said.
Gunmen opened fire at the settlement, detonated a bomb and attempted to fire a rocket-propelled grenade. An army spokeswoman said there had been an exchange of fire with troops and five gunmen had been hit.
Abu Qusai, a spokesman for the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed group in the late Palestinian leader's Fatah faction, said it held Israel responsible for Arafat's death, adding:
"Our groups together with brothers from other factions took to the battlefield with the enemy to make it pay the price ... The next days will witness violent clashes with the Zionists everywhere."
Israeli security forces are on high alert for violence from Palestinian militants who have been staging an armed uprising for independence for the past four years.
Dozens of Palestinian youths threw stones at soldiers at a checkpoint near the West Bank city of Ramallah, where Arafat will be buried following a funeral in Cairo on Friday.
Sporadic stone-throwing clashes were taking place in other parts of the West Bank as well, the army said.
The 75-year-old leader who came to symbolize the Palestinian cause died at a French hospital early on Thursday.
Qusai said Israel was to blame for Arafat's death, by forcing him to live in primitive conditions in his headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah, where he was virtually confined by the Israeli army for 2-1/2 years.
Israel says Arafat -- who suffered for years from tremors symptomatic of Parkinson's disease -- had access to doctors, food, running water and electricity in the compound.
The former guerrilla leader had spent years on the run and sometimes living in bunkers in Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Libya and other countries before returning to the Palestinian territories in 1994 under an interim peace accord with Israel.

I remember seeing a pic of an American Jew that moved to Israel. He was walking thru some urban area, with a fucking AK 47 and his TEN YEAR OLD SON. Apparently, they were on a little "hunting" expedition. The father kike had this intent look of hatred on his face, and was over-weight. It was a weird sight.

I'm sure there will be a lot of hostility in that area now that Arafat is dead. And it will probably get worse before it gets better. Mainly since the jews won't allow Arafat to be buried in jerusalem.
