Sullivan, of the posh Main Line community of Bryn Mawr, died Monday afternoon at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Police have not revealed a motive for the attack, although they said Ali was a slight acquaintance of Sullivan's.

Sullivan, a Harvard University graduate who played lacrosse, soccer and track at Radnor High School, lived with roommates a few blocks from where she was beaten.

Friends initially described her as friendly, pretty, athletic and outgoing, but by Tuesday, a media clampdown enforced by Sullivan's family made information about her much harder to come by.

Suspect balks at extradition


HACKENSACK, N.J. - Nader Ali, a former medical student at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia who has been charged with beating a onetime classmate to death with a baseball bat on a busy South Street corner, yesterday refused to be extradited to Pennsylvania.

In 1998, Ali, then 19, was charged with assault and serving alcohol to minors following a brawl at a friend's house, the Bergen County Record reported at the time. Ali, trying to get unwanted guests to leave the party, had started the fight by throwing a cigarette in a guest's face, police told the paper. He was hit in the head with a bottle and needed 30 stitches.

A third year medical student and former highschool homecoming queen named Sullivan gets her noggin caved in from behind by an Islamist mud and all the east coast joosocialist media can come up with is a single, unflattering photo of her.

Oh yea, we also get regaled with pitiable tales of his bipolar disorder...which condition apparently didn't affect in the least his ability to get admitted into a medical school and one day to become a physician.

She was jumped from behind by a bat-wielding attacker in a mask after leaving the Whole Foods market on South Street.

...Lea Sullivan, a 25-year-old medical student fatally attacked Sunday afternoon on South Street, came face-to-face with her assailant at her Center City apartment house just hours before he clubbed her with a baseball bat, according to law enforcement sources.

Sullivan and one of her roommates had directly spoken to Nader Ali, 26, a former classmate at Jefferson Medical College, a source said yesterday.

"The two of them had spoken to him when he came to the apartment building that day," the official said.

He added that Sullivan "was concerned about the fact that he was around that day and expressed that to her roommate."

THE WOODEN Louisville Slugger baseball bat probably used to beat medical student Lea Sullivan to death Sunday afternoon was found yesterday in the trunk of Nader Ali's black Oldsmobile.

Cops also found a 35mm camera and a collection of empty cups and food wrappers, which could suggest that Ali had spent a lot of time in the car, perhaps staking out his former classmate and acquaintance.
