It’s been a rough week for Memphis City Schools. First a Hanley Elementary School teacher is charged with murdering his wife. Now two former school administrators at Klondike Elementary are charged with scamming taxpayers and parents.

Mary Maclin used to be a principal at Klondike Elementary (http://evaas.sas.com/tn_reportcard/welcome.jsp?Main=1&ID=791&School=380). Felicia Martin was a financial secretary there. Both are charged with forgery and several other crimes. [color=red]Parents at the school say they are shocked by the news.[/color]

“I think it's really sad that someone would take advantage of the students that go to this school,” Nita King says

“When you're up in high standards like that you are supposed to do what's right,” Nicole King says.

Felicia Martin is indicted for theft of property worth more than $10,000, official misconduct and three counts of forgery. Mary Maclin is indicted for official misconduct and three counts of forgery.

So far, a court date has not been scheduled.
