I think I finally fixed the problem on my own.
Things seem to be back up to speed now.
Food for thought...
I think anyone who creates these harmful trojans, worms, and viruses, should be hung by their balls until the vultures pick every remaining meat from their carcass.

I haven't used windows in years, uh you may have a rootkit in you system. (This is what's going around)
Rootkit.Win32.TDSS,Tidserv, TDSServ, Alureon
TDSSKiller from what I understand is the only removal tool available.
Check the url below.

Free Norton removal tool

I would use the tools and scan your system just in case.

Was your computer protected by anti-virus software? My girlfriend let her Norton expire and of course right then she got a little friend through a chain email, that shit took me weeks to straighten out, finally I managed to install Avast and that fixed it. I hate antivirus software, it costs money and I think it saps power and in the past it has caused me great aggravation but at least it keeps the bugs out.
I recently got my girlfriend a Macbook pro, I haven’t looked into what kind of anti-virus software, if any, those things need, anybody know anything about Macs?

Got hit by Backdoor:Win32/Cycbot.B; it was not an email attachment I ignorantly opened;
It defeated road runner's suite of firewall, anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-spyware, and pop-up software.(yes, running all this shit slows the process down).
This backdoor trojan allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and download and execute files. Tech support said replace the drive and change your banking, ebay, paypal, etc. passwords immediately.
Reformat and reinstallation of the OS is not allowed in this condition of infection, as the cybot has changed your internet settings to use a PROXY SERVER. Some folks have successfully disinfected Backdoor Trojans with the help of this website. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/
Be careful what free videos you click on...... are the same IT geeks that design/sell/support anti-virus software building SuperCybots after hours for job security?

I agree, though I no longer have to worry about such things.
The solution is simple: buy a Mac.

That is a question that I have asked myself in the past.

I keep a copy of Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/) on a flash drive just in case.
Some of the newer malwares are fake antivirus software that easily trick novice users. They disable your antivirus and anti spyware progs and block anything from updating. Very hard to rid yourself of them.
With that in mind, start up in safe mode, install malwarebytes, change the .exe to something other than was it installs as, and run. I have saved countless computers this way after the geeksquad tells people to format.
Its also helpful to backup your system.

Get a program called sandboxie. I used to get those kinds of viruses all the time, I use that with Norton and I haven't had a problem since. PM me for the Key. You can see how it works here:
