Prince Vlad of Wallachia
His Name: The Warrior Prince Vlad DRAKULYA/Dracula/Vlad the Impaler/Drukul.
There was a real Prince Dracula, and he was a true "prince of darkness" in the weak christian sence. He was Prince Vlad III Drakulya, also known as "Vlad Tepes" which means "Vlad the Impaler. " The Turks called him "Kaziglu Bey" meaning the Impaler Prince. He was also refered to as "Voevod" meaning warlord or warrior prince (not a prince who rules by words, but a prince who rules by the sword). Vlads father went by the nickname "Dracul" the word "drakul" linking his own family name and the Latin "draco" meaning "dragon" the symbol of the Dragon being the symbol of the Order of the Dragon. Vlad went by the nickname Drakul(a) meaning "son of the Dragon"
What did he look like?
This image is from early engravings, there is also a portrait of him, all of which were produced after his death.
Turkish accounts say he was tall, thin and had dark hair and pale blue eyes. Most images depict him as having a very long thin nose and a long thin face, most where produced after his death. Images of him were forbidden while he lived, his method of law enforcement was simple: All criminals that came before him were punished by death.

Drakulya was born in 1431. His given name was Vlad. He was the prince of Wallachia during the time of the Ottoman Empire's attempts to take over parts of Eastern Europe in the 1400's. Vlad defended our European homeland by ALL the means at his disposal for years from turkish advances.
I will not tell the full story of Prince Vlad III Drakulya myself, but ask other Comrades with good knowlege of the subject to add to this history. So together we should produce a good account of this period in history.
