Over the past three days, three members of this forum have asked me why I haven't submitted movie reviews to VNN in quite a while. Here goes.
In the Summer of 1998, I started spending an inordinate amount of time on the internet, doing some genealogy research and playing games, but mostly playing movie trivia in chat rooms. By 2000, I had my fill of that (and of nekkid lady pictures), and I started looking at some of the political pages the "regular Joes" had been putting up.
I had been becoming more racially aware throughout the 1990's, but, shortly before the 2000 election, I stumbled across several "White Nationalist" websites. Most were of piss-poor quality, were seldom (if ever) updated and featured mostly semi-literate extremist ramblings that didn't seem to say much other than "Ah hate niggers, dagnabbit!" Sometimes, however, they would link to a site that was much more coherent, thought-provoking and/or downright inspiring.
I can't remember exactly how or when I found VNN (probably in the Spring of 2001), but I found it to be refreshing change from the stagnation of most other WN sites. I also loved the fact that they were saying the same sort of thing about movies and TV that had always frustrated me. They and the NA seemed to have it nailed: that the Jew-dominated media pushes an anti-White agenda, and is one of the most damaging entities facing our race.
Let's face it; you can talk about government whosits and whatsits 'till you're blue in the breasts, but there is a very LARGE population of Whites out there who is hands down more interested in a shoot-'em-up or a kissy-pic than some stuffy old political debate. By the Summer of 2001, I contacted Alex and submitted my first reviews ("Evolution" and "Swordfish", which were released June 8, 2001, so it was shortly after that date).
Since then, compliments-a-plenty have come in from the good readers of VNN (and from the Head Honkeys In Charge), and it's always a delight to see that folks get something out of my scribblings. It is the same sort of compliment when their absence is noted; occasionally, I'll even get a friendly e-mail from Alex or Vic, wondering whether I'm still breathing. In fact, the last review I submitted was for "Matrix: Reloaded", sometime in the summer of 2003. Prior to that, I believe it had been about six months since my previous submission ("About Schmidt").
In looking for those reviews on VNN's movie page to determine the exact dates, however, I was unable to find them. In fact, several of them are missing, and I don't know what to tell you about that. VNN has had its share of ups and downs, and much has been lost in the shuffle over the past year or so. I have some of them backed up in a draft file from my Yahoo e-mail, but the rest were lost when whitesearch.net disappeared. If the poobahs of VNN don't have them, I guess they're lost forever (though I could re-write some of them, I suppose).
But I digress. In response to past and future queries as to my lack of reviews currently on VNN, may I just say that the reasons are as follows:
1. After a year-and-a-half of writing them, I just sort of ran out of steam.
2. I was already repeating myself, and I was reviewing movies that I shouldn't have even been attending.
3. I felt like a mouse fighting a gorilla. My hat is off to those brave souls who can't afford to take several months off from the struggle (like I did).
4. The first VNN board was a little discouraging, what with the whole Bill White thing, VNN vs. SF & NA, the immediate troll infestation, getting shit on by some of the folks running the board (not Alex or Vic), and the board's eventual downfall (including the loss of the first IRMDb). During the same period, I was waking up to the fact that membership or support of the National Alliance was not worth the time, trouble or expense. I removed the recommendation to join them at the end of reviews sometime in the Fall of 2002. By the way, if someone with the means to do so is reading this, please remove those recommendations and links from the ends of all existing reviews. Thanks.
5. I finally took the advice of those who said I should just quit going to movies. In fact, "I really should stop going to movies" is the first line of my first review, so I guess I took my own advice. I don't see nearly as many movies now as I used to, nor do I watch as much television, for obvious reasons.
6. VNN movie reviewers started springing up left and right, which is wonderful!!! I couldn't be more pleased that so many WN's now take an interest in spreading the word about the Judenscheisse (and the not-quite-as-offensive stuff as well). It takes the pressure right off, and allows me to focus on the IRMDb, as well as my semblance of a life away from the keyboard.
I hope that'll do, and, like I told one of the enquirers, the muse could strike again one of these days; ya never know. Besides, I'm pretty jazzed about the IRMDb, and may also put up one for TV shows and print/electronic ads as well. Thanks again for the many kind words from the readers, and to Alex and Vic at VNN for the opportunity. Thanks also to Billy Roper for his support.
