How does one get a referral and what does it mean?

How does one get a referral?
By doing exactly what I do

When a new person joins they are always asked if a current member referred them to join here. If they put your name in that box, you get a referral.
I joined because I wrote Linder an E-mail and he told me of Govnn.com and VNNF and that is how I learned of the forum. I wasn’t asked that question.

That's interesting. I just noticed today that I have one. I'm forever telling folks to come over here. I wonder who took me up on it? Any way of finding out?

Me too - I've got one, but don't know who the hell it is. (Though when I was at The Phora fuckin' with Fade the Butcher I invited one or two of his regulars who looked like they were "our" type of material to come over to a real WN forum. I'm pretty sure that's where mine came from).
