Graffiti found on some homes owned by Hmong in Menomonie
A Menomonie man faces charges for something that happened the day after the shootings in Sawyer County. It's something police say could be considered a hate crime. The word, 'killers' was painted on three homes and a truck in the suspect's neighborhood in Menomonie. Those homes and the truck are owned by Hmong. Police say two witnesses caught the man in the act. "We want to reassure the community this is not a commentary on Menomonie. It's very unusual that someone lashes out against minority groups in general in Menomonie," said Chief Dennis Beety, from the Menomonie Police Department. The suspect could be charged on Friday with criminal damage to property.

They stink!

This is the kind of thing that exploits the flaws in Hate Crime legislation. Hate Crimes laws are defined too broadly, and basically anybody could be committing a hate crime in any way imaginable. Its really just a stiffening of regular laws.

Chances are that the white man involved in this graffiti will be convicted of a hate crime, but the prosecutors of the Hcoon chai vang won't even consider it!

My cousin just moved to Menomonie a few months ago. One of the reasons she moved there was because she liked how the town appeared to be all white, or at least mostly white. I guess she was wrong. :mad:

One of the area's malls around my home used to be about 90% white, 10% asian. Now it's literally, 50% black and 50% mexican.

Another mall that used to be around 80% white is now 30% paki, 30% black, and 30% mexican and 10% white.


I remember reading about the demographic changes, and I thought they were a long ways off and/or wouldn't happen. A few years later, I'm dead wrong. Of course, in all of these places, the most empty store is the book store.

These are, unfortunately changes, that are taking place almost everywhere, now. I guess I don't even now why I was naive enough to be surprised about the population of menomonie. I guess, I was just clinging to some kind of false hope, since I have thought of moving there myself. :(

Correct. There's really nowhere to escape to anymore, not even rural areas. The shit's gotta hit the fan eventually, if it ever does... :(

Southeast Asians are darker skinned and have rougher features. I can definitely see the difference between a Jap and a Cambodian, Lao, Viet, or Hmong. Animae Eternae is right on this one. Sniping at him is unproductive. He's on our side, for heaven's sake!

It is really sick to say, but you are probably right. If Vang is found to be insane, he will probably serve a few years in a mental institution, they will serve him with a nice little cocktail of drugs, and then they will say he is "cured" But this white guy who spray painted a few politically incorrect words will be charged with a hate crime and serve a long time in prison. :mad:

My vehicle broke down in Kerville Texas 100 miles north of San Antonio last year for two weeks and I have never met nicer folks before. Nearly an all white town. I would estimate 90% + No grafiti, gangbangers, hookers or transients either. Almost a throwback to the 50s. I only saw one mex and I approached him and asked him directions just to see his response. If I had closed my eyes, I would have sworn I was talking to a white man. No accent or jive talk at all. Very polite. No niggers either (:
