I just started reading this book today, so I'll keep everyone posted on how it shapes up.
Farrell is not a typical AUP author; he's got a Ph.D. in physics and has written a couple of cogent, well-argued books about Egypt's Great Pyramid as a possible scalar weapons system. He presents his material plainly but strongly documented and has no time for innumerates (brush up on your math before you read anything by this guy; he expects you to know what he thinks intelligent laymen should all know, which is lots more than Fox News is comfortable with us peasents knowing.)
Finally, some of the bullshit associated with the final days of the Third Reich is being looked into by a man who (a) has the scientific credentials to know what is likely to be true and what is government snowjob. Massive amounts of German technology was confiscated by the "Allies" (Americans mostly) and much of it remains classified. Farrell takes on the task of investigating some of the more exotic rumors and so far he's got my interest. He's a compelling writer who does not talk down to his reader.
The book is coming out in March 2005 but you can buy it now if you go to AUP's website and order it there. They're dependable to deal with and they take Paypal. Took them 3 days to get my copy and that's pretty good for this time of year.
