Jay's commentary:
There are very few “hate” crimes committed in London each year. So few in fact, that London really doesn’t need a hate crimes unit. There are however some individuals, as evidenced by the article below, who would have us believe that London is on the brink of becoming the next Nazi Germany.
Richard Warman made a presentation at the annual meeting of the Association for the Elimination of Hate in London yesterday. He discussed groups that have, or had an internet presence.
Northern Alliance spokesman Jason Ouwendyk attended the meeting and observed Richard Warman’s presentation.
He talked about the Canadian Ethnic Cleansing Team, a group that has been defunct for years and was never based in London.
He also showed material relating to the Londoner Tom Winnicki, The Northern Alliance and the Canadian Heritage Alliance (none of whom have been charged or convicted under Canada’s hate laws).
None of these London-based groups or individuals has ever been charged under section 318 or section 319 of Canada’s hate laws. Therefore, when they are described as “hate groups”, that is entirely subjective opinion.
He went on to discuss the AEH’s draft of an anti-hate plan. He lamented that this was still only a draft. You may remember the AEH’s Hate-Free City proposal. Paul Fromm, along with Northern Alliance and CHA members lobbied and protested against this plan, which was eventually rejected by city council.
With very few actual hate motivated crimes in this city and pro-European groups hosting their websites from foreign lands that protect them from Canada’s hate laws, there really is no problem with “hate” in London, as defined by the law.
If hate is thriving in London, it certainly isn’t coming from the right side of the political spectrum.
Incidentally, there is a picture of Richard Warman in the LFP paper where the caption has his last name misselled as "Worman". As in WORMan? To suggest he's a 'worm'? How apt :D
Hey McKinnon, why don't you list all of those horrible 'hate crims' which supposedly happened in our city over the, say, past 5 years? Why don't you also list all of the murders, rapes, robberies and home invasions which occured over that time, together with the racial data of the perpetrators of each incident.
