Erwin Rommel was the greatest military strategist of the second world war. He commanded the Afrika Korps in North Africa, leading Germany to a stunning victory over the Allies at the Siege of Tobruk and at the Battle of Gazala, despite being outnumbered 2 to 1. He oversaw the Atlantic Wall's defenses, making the Maginot Line look like a speed bump. Although his loyalty toward Hitler was suspect, his loyalty towards Germany was unmatched.
