The V-2 was the world's first ballistic missile, designed as a wonder weapon to reach targets from dozens of miles away. But ultimately it was deployed as a weapon of terror and vengeance against the British people for the deliberate bombing of Berlin, then a heavily populated civilian area. Hitler believed that the V-2 could literally scare the British people into surrendering, if not, he would at least pay the Brits back for their crime against the German people.

Some new news to me, I spent 6 years of my youth in Germany and thought I had heard and seen everything ww2 related. Just discovered the tale of the V2 strike on Antwerp that killed 567 people. Jeeeebus.
