Copied from SF:
I think if women perceive it's in their interests, they'd support it. That's largely why Hollywood spends a whole lot of time and energy sending the message "Women and minorities" "Women and minorities" Women and minorities," hammering on that point over and over again.
Obviously the word "minorities" includes male minorities and female minorities, so the phrase "Women and minorities" seems redundant. The actual meaning is "White women and minorities." They can't actually say it like that though, because it's a little too obvious, so they cut "White" off of it and you're left with "Women and minorities."
They're trying to impart the message that White women's interests and Black/Hispanic interests are one and the same. So that makes our job all the more obvious, our task quite simply is to prove them wrong. There's plenty of ammunition with which to do it. I mean, look at the way women are treated in Black communities, look at the way non-White on White crime disproportionately harms women, and a collapsing economy affects everyone.
